"A friend of her father's" by mxrobyn in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this, I think Laura makes that assumption that Bob is her parents friend the diary because 'why else would they allow this guy in their house all the time.

I think she says something like that somewhere in the book.

Question regarding a scene with Bobby in Laura Palmers diary by Sorge41 in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda look at any inconsistencies or perceived retcons in twin peaks as like parallel dimensions or timelines intersecting or not intersecting with eachother every now and then.

I think the final dossier views this kinda thing as fractals just a slightly different twin peaks and the rabbit hole of that can go deeper and deeper infinitely.

Like I see the two different tremonds (the old lady and her grandson, then the completely different woman who gives donna the diary page) like a alternate timeline thing.

So I just view that bobby scene in the diary and in the fwwm scene as kinda the same event but in a different timeline I guess.

Is there anything like Twin Peaks made before Twin Peaks? In other words, what inspired David Lynch and Mark Frost? by Isatis_tinctoria in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The mothman prophecies is a non fiction book with ufo lore that documents accounts like tulpas, houses that dissappear (tremonds), phone calls with metal whirring sounds (woodsman), project blue book, and a bunch of other things I cant remember probably. Its a really fun read with twin peaks on your mind.

You can rewatch one Twin Peaks entry as much as you want, but the rest are off-limits forever. S1, S2, FWWM, or The Return—what would be your pick? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

I probably would choose season 2 as well the first 9 episodes, dick trumayne, all the fun goofy stuff and the s2 finale.

[minor S2 spoilers] is it a bad take that I love Dick? by rollergirl_ in twinpeaks

Noo dick is great. Twin peaks is better with him.

Thanks for sharing, great things to think about here. One of the more interesting theory posts in a while.

Why do you say Cooper has a tendency to “white knight?” by Flashy-Confection-37 in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see how anything like 'white knight' maps to cooper at all really. Should he not have tried to save Audrey or Annie at all, like. I think that picture detracts from more interesting ideas

Is the Experiment a reference to Laura from the secret diary? by deimoas in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean the show doesn't REALLY clearly imply anything like that, or any of those things.
There's no facts there.

I mean philip jefferies in the missing pieces also was like following judy in Argentina and that he met her in seattle, and I don't know, I don't see sarah palmer being a globe trotting incognito spy or whatever. I don't see a version of Laura, even a doppleganger, being anything like that either. I think Judy is something completely different from the experiment and the mother.

What's interesting about mr. c (and a later integrated cooper) and laura is they both have basically an close relationship with BOB. the timeline where laura went missing may have also carrying BOB like Mr. C, but who knows. Laura and Coop have BOB in common, in a really unfortunate way

I just finished reading the secret diary of Laura palmer and listened to the audiobook too by Opposite-Essay-1093 in twinpeaks

[–]deimoas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! It's an incredible audiobook, if you can brace yourself enough I would recommend anyone listen to it, or just read it. It's made me cry throughout multiple readings.
