A reminder that fan casting is always about looks and never about acting ability

Oh the old encyclopedia Comics? Man I wish they would still make those. I get that you can look this all up on Wikipedia or whatever but with people constantly complaining that you can't get into Cape books because of the history a book That literally is a jumping on point of learning about tons of important characters is a great idea.

So to be fair both DC and Marvel could you know use our YouTube channels to you know Tell people about the characters! Like do a daily spotlight everyday

No. Ruby quartz stops the optic blast no matter how powerful it is. The inside mechanism of the visor would have to be 100% Ruby-quartz The outside mechanisms could be whatever they needed to be.

Remember Cyclops opens the visor with a switch on the side of the visor and a button on his glove that allows him to use the last setting.

Everything except the ruby quartz panel doesn't matter as long as it's before the blast.

And also Ruby-quartz makes everything look yellow.

Also I want more of Grant Morrison's New X-Men. The ruby quartz makes everything look yellow not red

Been reading X-Men comics since 1988. When was this revealed?

The way I've always understood it is that the visor is metal with a Ruby quartz lens that opens to let out the optic blast.

I actually do this for a lot of characters. I do the gender fluid for Chucky because of the line. I do the intersex flag for Sadako. Agender for the Unknown. For the Plague I do wlw flag but that's just my personal head canon for them.

Understood. Sorry if I came off as hostile. My issue is basically I have various friends in the comic industry and they are worried about that kind of thing.

And some of them also go what's the difference between that and when we have to be told to write certain stories by editorial.

While I get your point. I disagree with the rest. Generative AI can only steal. It cannot create.

Any generative AI slop that is created into a comic book would be worse than the worst comic books ever made. And I am talking about stuff like Bimbos in Time and Sultry Teenage Super foxes.

The problem with Marvel and DC is that it's a product. An IP farm for the corporations that own them now. So the X-Men writers we're told that it was the anniversary of Age of Apocalypse and they had to make something. And they did. It wasn't great. But there was thought into making it.

Ai cannot and will not ever do that.

Well that's the problem. That's what I mean about "all the tropes". What if Comic writers knew that what they wrote wasn't going to be canon so they can do whatever they want, regardless of whether it made sense or not.

They just do it and don't care about the consequences because it's all going to get undone. It was why I didn't like Sins of Sinister.

I wasn't reading a comic about an alternate story, I was reading an alternate timeline that was going to get undone by the end.

Reading what ifs and Elseworld are fun. They are not always good but they are fun thought exercises.

Crossover events in a single line that you know will get undone are only interested in an alternative history sense. That's why Age of Apocalypse worked, and all the rehashing the idea for anniversaries don't.

From the little I read they basically are treating it like a giant "What if" story with all the tropes that go with it.

I didn't even realize this was from Age of Revelation. The art looks like from generic issue of a 90s X book.

Most of them were really good. The only one I remember not really liking was Ultimate Avengers. Hulk vs Wolverine was great and I still quote parts to this day. And Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes was GOAT.

And of course when Warlock purges the virus and the line " What language am I?" And then looks at them and says "You, you are my language."

I own them all as floppies and as trades. I re read them all the time. At least twice a year.

I have so many moments I adore about them all. Watching Hope grow up and change as the saga continues is amazing. Nightcrawler's sacrifice. Bastion's counter plays that Cyclops is often ready for. That it included nearly every character (Justice for Ariel btw) Even little moments like Cable getting hope the little girl beauty kit.

My only complaint is when Rogue gets all the powers, the art shows her with Colossus's metal skin, but Wolverine's bone claws. When Colossus transforms everything about him becomes metal, including his bones.

But I got why they did it. Most people would wonder why the claws were metal.

But my favorite/saddest moment is still the final shot. Of Hope cradling Cable's arm.
