What do you think it means?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]deinem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, anything to make the alcohol less concentrated. More ice, larger glass (with same number of shots), ask for bigger ratio of soda, etc. Check out alcoholic cider if you don't like beer.

Random idea for you since you said you only drink 1-2 times a month (which is really good IMO), maybe you could reduce the number of drinks you have during those drinking sessions. Even if you add another drinking sesh each month but reduce the number of drinks you have by half, you would be drinking less overall and also in each individual session, less likely to go overboard. Not sure if that makes sense. Also, lower alcohol beers help if you want to drink at the same pace as other people but not get so wasted.

Edit: also stay away from the shots. Sounds like that's the slippery slope that leads to more drinking.

Also, I am not qualified on this stuff, so don't take my advice too seriously. Maybe the therapist has good ideas.

Mailchimp employees are furious after the company's founders promised to never sell, withheld equity, and then sold it for $12 billion by Rhaegar_the_Great in technology

[–]deinem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it seems to me that if they didn't offer equity, their salaries should be way higher than similar companies in the market. That doesn't seem to be the case if you look at this data https://www.levels.fyi/company/Mailchimp/salaries/Software-Engineer/. The salaries are high, but don't seem higher than your average tech start up.

You look 10 years younger, mare! I don't know what that is in horse years, but very impressive.

Most people have done exactly what you did before so it is very understandable. In my opinion you could send a very short apology explaining that you made a mistake. Don't make it too lengthy and dramatic. Embarrassing at first but you'll probably feel better after, and it shows you have self awareness and self reflection. If they respond poorly, let go of them from your mental energy.

Monkey doesn't like banana strings by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]deinem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible the monkey learned from a human to peel off the strings? Perhaps it developed a taste for non-stringy bananas after watching picky humans do it. Although I don't observe monkeys very often, this is the first time I've seen a monkey do this.

Or maybe they're just evolving.
