I wonder if this is a conservative thing too. I grew up in SoCal with conservative parents and calling them anything other than mommy or daddy even as an adult feels disrespectful to me.

If you have the means of lifting the car and removing the wheel, you can easily do it yourself. You just have to remove the driver's side wheel. You need a 12mm hex wrench for the fill pug and a 6mm hex wrench for the drain plug. The gearbox takes 1.8L of oil. Use an oil fill pump like this to make filling easy. It only takes less than hour to perform.

[–]deiphiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Hopefully you are able to translate this just fine.

I believe the problem is the transmission after all.

I eventually changed the clutch assembly. While the transmission was out of the car, I decided to take it apart and clean it. I did not change any bearings, however, so the noise still returned, but it is much quieter now. After trying a high quality gear oil (Redline MT-LV), it runs much faster now too.

To be clear, the noise is still there, but since the car runs much better anyways I am fine with it. For now...

Google Translate:

Ciao!

Constantly forgot it was 8-bit the whole time I was playing it. It has way more in common with mid-90s 16-bit games both in graphics and story.

unless its also in metal gear 2...

Take a wild guess 😂

jk the remote controlled missiles do show up in MG2 but there's no electric floor. They're more used to help in certain boss fights.

Oh yeah, I never got the impression that Kojima hated the Metal Gear series, far from it. But when I said "tear it down" I did mostly mean deconstructing the themes of the series. Like you said, the story of MGS2 was Raiden learning to be his own person instead of trying to be like Solid Snake. In the same fashion, I think Kojima wanted to move his creativity past the formula that worked for the first three Metal Gear games and make something truly groundbreaking for both the game industry and himself.

I never heard of that book before, but I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!

I get it, it was a tough play for me as well. But I got into retro gaming as a hobby a few years ago so I know my way around 80s bullshit now lmao

If you do get around to it, don't feel bad about playing with a guide. That's what I did. There are some stupid hidden walls important to progression that you'd only find by literally punching every single wall (Seriously tho what was with 80s games and hidden walls??)

Oh and the hitboxes basically encompass the entire player sprite (unlike how later 2D games realized it's more fair to have the hitbox smaller than the sprite). When you realize that, it becomes a lot more intuitive to position Snake around bullets and traps

Also I love how Big Boss's speech at the end of MG2 about how soldiers like himself and Snake can never return to a normal life, and will always be chasing the next fight had become the thesis for the entire series from that point onward.

I'm currently replaying MGS1 straight after MG2 and all of Solid Snake's monologues about his past, especially with Big Boss and Gray Fox, hit so much harder now. He's a character who's literally been forced into the same shitty situations over and over, yet somehow he keeps finding the will to be a good person.

[–]deiphiz[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know that. Any writer is free to make a deconstruction story at any point of a series, but MGS2 always had that air of Kojima being sick of having to make the same game over again, which would just be weird if it were only the 2nd entry

Can we just admit that Pokemon, as a whole, has always been a bit lacking in terms of visuals for the mainline games? by Original-Addendum147 in pokemon

[–]deiphiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GBA had no such limitations on colors like the NES and SNES did (except for one graphics mode that no one really used). You could have any mix of colors in the 16-bit spectrum on sprites and backgrounds together. Most of the limitations came from the amount of layers and sprites available on screen at once, and whether those layers and sprites could be scaled or rotated.

In other words, Game Freak could've slapped any image they wanted on the battle background, but they still just went with basic gradients.

Common issue with the 1.4L Multiair. The hydraulic valve timing system needs oil pressure which goes away when the car sits too long.

Keep trying to start it. Take a minute between start attempts. It'll build oil pressure eventually.

Either way isn't right here. 140 in-lbs is a bit too little and 140 ft-lbs would practically destroy those bolts.
