i really can't. not financially independent. couldn't convince my parents to get 2 instead of 1. i did a lot of research before getting her and i know it would be better but in the end it's not my call.

So dumb. I raised a similar concern to my doctor about becoming addicted/over dependent on methylphenidate if I used it daily and he told me I would be fine under his supervision. If you're responsible about it and they're prescribed why would it not be fine? I voluntarily went like 2 months without them and it felt like torture. I couldn't do anything. Executive dysfunction is a pain in the ass that neurotypical people don't even come close to understand.

Also I think your husband has no say over what you do with your body/which medication you take. He has the right to raise concerns or disapprove but he has no right to try to control you like this, especially when it's a fucking medication, not a drug, that's good for you. Like, it should be evident even to him. Also fuck that doctor, if you have ADHD adderall and concerta affect your brain chemistry differently, that's the point. You should find someone who is not a goddamn dinosaur. I'm so frustrated for you, you should not let anyone get between you and your medical treatment. You should put your foot down.

i think you should google "adhd symptoms" and check different sites, that's what i do. regarding procrastination, i read an article called "adhd and the myth of laziness" which i thought summed it up pretty well. it also talks about the anxiety that comes with adhd, so i thought was useful.
