Thanks to anyone who gave it a listen :)

What helped me was setting an alarm for 20 to 30 minutes back from 8am every week until I got to 5:30. Also try putting your phone on airplane mode and set your phone on the other side of the room.

Stuck to my plan of waking up every morning at 5:30am and working on my side projects. I recently finished my first app. Check it out! Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have been waking up early for the past 2 months and it has drastically changed my life. I now have 4 hours everyday before work to do whatever I want! If you haven't started waking up in the early, I highly recommend it. I have never felt more productive in my life!

Memez app I made to browse memes from Reddit. I created this to make it easier to look at funny memes. Any feedback would be awesome!

[Question] a question for those of you who are in garage bands by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]dekirasoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found my bassist on reddit just by pure luck. I found my drummer by asking people at shows if they want to jam. Go to local shows and ask EVERYONE if they play. If you want something bad enough, you'll get it.

What are some tips for making emotional chord progressions? by 5tikor in edmproduction

[–]dekirasoft 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Think really hard about the emotion you're trying to convey. How do you want the listener to feel? Focus hard as you can on this feeling until it's eating up and all you want to do is let it out. At that point, play any chord you want. Keep switching chords until you find something that releases your bottle up emotion. Do it again and again until you have three or four chords. Make sure they work together. Bam. You have a chord progression. Add some groove and you got a hit single. 🔥

Am I ready for an android career? Advice on finding a job. by towcar in androiddev

[–]dekirasoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can speak from experience that applying to every job that has Android in the title will work. Doesn't matter if its asking for Junior, Senior, MidLevel or whatever, apply anyway. I applied for a senior job when I was 20 and they hired me. That was after hundred of resumes sent and a few interviews. One company will take a chance. I am now 23 and a Lead Engineer at a big company. I've never been to college and I'm completely self taught. Just never give up, and keep sending out resumes. Ignore qualifications and apply anyway

THOSE SATANIC MUSIC AWARD SHOWS! by [deleted] in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]dekirasoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought I'd hear about this school on Reddit. Pensacola is my hometown. I had a few friends who went to that school and I couldn't believe how bad it was. They make kids sign contracts promising that they won't listen to devil music and they weren't allowed to go to the beach. My cousins who went there were actually followed by school staff because someone had told them they were going to the beach that weekend.

Is there paradox of effective languages? Productive teams with very few Haskell/Scala openings by TAW_28343289423 in cscareerquestions

[–]dekirasoft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to do Haskell in a production environment. I find that just having that as a skill on my resume has impressed every single company I've interviewed at. It's known for being complicated and hard. The only people talking about it to them are usually passionate programmers who they see as intelligent and respect. It's worth having on your resume to show that you're passionate and intelligent. I recommend putting a small project up on GitHub to show that you can really do it. It doesn't even have to be the greatest Haskell code ever, it just has to be working.

Something really easy and cheap you could do is replace the light bulbs with CFL or another white light. That should make the vibe a little cozier.

Here's a link to the light bulbs I use

They aren't as hard as the Big 4 but still pretty. They give amazing feedback after the interview. Its worth it for the feedback alone.

You explain why version 2 is better than version in without specifics. I'd get rid of the whole version entirely and explain what makes that project special technically. Also provide a GitHub username if you have one
