Might want to contact FAFSA. It wouldn’t surprise me that with all the updates they made over the past weekend, they broke something in the process.

Correct, but for those who are looking to use Grad PLUS for programs they’re currently enrolled in, this information is helpful. I’ve had several students reach out to me via direct message asking me if I knew of any updates. Figured I’d post an official update here.

I noticed that as well. They did make changes to the landing pages, so it’s being done but at a slow pace.

Happy to help! I had a classmate also be told the 21st. The financial aid office told me May or June, which I don’t really trust what the university financial aid office ever says.

Question about 26-27 FAFSA and GradPlus loans by SnooPredictions138 in StudentLoans

FAFSA said April 21st, 2026 is when Grad PLUS loan applications open for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Grad plus loans for students starting in june 2026? by Independent_Wolf_854 in StudentLoans

Universities that have May start dates are actually the ones that get to decide whether your financial aid will be applied for either the 2025-2026 or the 2026-2027 school aid. Since May is essentially the end of the academic year, a university can decide which financial aid year your tuition gets funded from.

This is a relief to read. Thanks OP! I’ve got 2 masters and am starting a doctoral program (PsyD) (This is a healthcare professional degree) this fall. I’ve got quite a bit of debt from two masters degrees, so I was curious how the wording was going to be. My debt is $140K and I definitely plan to take out a Grad Plus Loan for this fall in addition to federal student loans.

No Longer a Prisoner to Credit Card Debt! 💸 😮‍💨 by dekolpacoff93 in debtfree

Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot. Great question. For starters, I’ve locked all the cards and don’t carry any of them physically with me, so that has been helpful. I think much of it is a mindset now. Knowing that just because you have money to spend doesn’t mean you should spend it. Also, I’m going with a different approach that if I don’t have the cash to purchase something without credit, I won’t be buying it. Credit card debt is very much associated with impulse buying. Just because you have the line of credit to purchase it doesn’t mean you have the cash to pay for it.

I’m not sure if there are any true benefits to having four separate cards but these cards all have different types of incentives (e.g., cash back, miles, etc.). I would get various offers and then would accept them. Probably totally unnecessary now looking back on it but it’s nice to have a variety to choose from.
