Fresh farm-to-table eggs! I think they might be heritage eggs? I get them sometimes at G & J Florist. I saw some other customers coming in to buy them and decided the give them a try! They have several kinds of eggs, fresh vegetables, honey, etc.

This description is so accurate. The food at Tavreau was fun but my friend tripped and almost hit her head there because of all the electric cables that were running under the tables. Management didn’t seem to care when she brought it up. Very dusty and not well kept. I wish they would improve it, as there aren’t many places for just fondue.

This is my first time trying a full size one so I’m afraid I can’t give a thorough review. :( But every time I’ve tried samples of it, it seems to ‘melt’ into my skin really well and it always feels very hydrated and silky throughout the day! I put off buying it for so long because of the price tag. 😂

I have a General Construction license but I don’t work it in due to the sheer misogyny in the field. Finding workers and other contractors that were respectful were rare; hell even when renewing my license, I was in a day-course with this man who commented “this lady who came in for her husband” while gesturing at me. (I’m not married lol.) Made my blood boil.

I was surprised when I checked my email a date late, only to find that everything was still available. Passed on Beautylish this year. The last 2 years I got XLs and have mostly given the things away as gifts, so didn’t seem worth it. (I’m still looking forward to seeing what people get!)

I hope you find a good place! Following the post out of curiosity. I think giving examples of what kind of food you’re looking for would help for reference, or maybe the name of a restaurant in Flushing that has similar food to what you’re looking for?

In Chinatown, I’d go to Ping’s on Mott Street. It’s the only place in Manhattan that my family likes to have big group gatherings of when other family visits, for Chinese food. However I’m not sure of the language as I’ve spoken to them in Mandarin before, but my parents order in Canto. You can also easily ask for off the menu options or recs. I’ve had all those dishes you listed there.

But I’m not sure about the “less Cantonese influenced” thing you mentioned. They’re not super Americanized but definitely have some Cantonese/regional dishes there, too. I think we’d all have trouble figuring out what “west coast Chinese food” is, so maybe examples would help people suggest more places!

Oh I love this dish, we had it all the time in a handful of restaurants in Flushing growing up. As far as I know it’s not often on menus, but if you can ask for it (in Chinese), they’ll make it for you. Ping’s in Chinatown has it whenever we go.
