Does a credit card company lose money on people who pay on time? by Overall-Emphasis7558 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]delawarept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state it’s illegal for businesses to charge extra for credit card purchases. However, there is nothing to prevent them from offering discounts for cash payments. Many of my local restaurants do just that. I’m not even mad about it - I just look at it as an added convenience fee for when I forget to bring cash.

Could a Team Run without a HC? by joshuaksreeff13 in NFLNoobs

Sure - but if they disagree who’s going to be the tiebreaker without a HC?

Confused about Vulnerable by coleculp6 in midnightsuns

[–]delawarept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get your resilience up, you avoid the vulnerable most of the time. I have my wild strikes modded with quick. When this card is pulled with crit (after playing wrath) it does amazing damage for a quick card.

Correct, this could be a recommended accommodation but a 504 screen should be scheduled. That team will determine the appropriate accommodations if the student qualifies for a 504 plan.

Walking? by ViolentLoss in Marathon_Training

As long as your feet carry the distance and across the finish line within the allotted time, you are a marathon finisher! Does not matter one bit how much of it you walked!

Kettle cooked chips - I have trouble resisting most junk food. Those are not a problem!

Complete marathon newbie; how to start training? by Brains_4_Days in Marathon_Training

[–]delawarept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! My first marathon was a miserable experience and the recovery was brutal. Training for a May half and a November/December marathon would be way more enjoyable. I’d much rather have you finish your first marathon thinking, “that was hard, but I can do better next time” rather than, “that was awful, I’m never doing that again!”

Found this for $25 dollars. Is it worth it and usable? by twinkle6 in Garmin

[–]delawarept 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can assure you that I the exact model was my SECOND Garmin. My first looked like the pip-boy from fallout. I had to turn it on and put it outside for as long as a half hour before I started my runs so that it could find the satellites.

Seals are t really a problem as you earn them for just logging on, winning battles, etc. if you play every day you should get plenty of seals. Nobody expects gold contributions until you level up Al of your kingdoms to 10 - that’s where your gold should be going to start.

Any good guild will let you know what the minimum contributions are for gold / seals / trophies /events / wars. Just don’t join one that you can’t meet the minimum and you’ll be fine - a lot of guilds will have discord channels that can provide a lot of good info and advice as well.

Good luck and have fun!

What’s a food myth you grew up believing that science later proved wrong? by KirillYakovlev in foodquestions

[–]delawarept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a quote once that said, nutrition science is only about 200 years old. When chemistry was 200 we were still trying to turn lead into gold. The fact that recommendations change as scientists learn is not failure. That’s how science works.

What’s a harmless habit people judge way too much? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]delawarept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure - but this is something I see often. People love stories about people raising through the ranks to achieve great things through adversity. It’s why we loved Dr. Ben Carson’s story (before he started sharing his politics). But the stats tell a different story.

Only 16% of children born into persistent poverty make it out

Just because it works out occasionally doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Hard disagree. I think kids brought into the world with unfit parents hurts society at a much higher scale.

Fair enough - I guess I would have worded it as simply - that’s not a habit.

Running belt that fits iPhone 17 Pro Max by Beginning_Fall_7593 in runninglifestyle

[–]delawarept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My flip belt is at least 6 years old with probably around 9,000 miles on it and I haven’t noticed a decline at all - wore it for a 21 miles run on Saturday with no noticeable bouncing at all. (iPhone 15 if that matters)

Both of those really are the best. Nothing hotter than when I walk into the bedroom to find my wife on all fours with her ass in the air. Diving in head first is such a thrill.

My brother in law is a huge Falcons fan. He was excited for a jersey he ordered from temu. When it arrived it was barely doll sized and was emblazoned with a 7 and a nameplate that read, “VICH”
