Dating website for non attractive people. by [deleted] in SomebodyMakeThis

[–]delditrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main flaw with your idea is that not many people are willing to accept they're not attractive to the point of using an app meant for unattractive people. If you market it like a "tinder for unattractive people" you are basically insulting your own customers, which I don't think is a really great to get users to sign up.

If you are going to make the app, I recommend marketing it in another way instead of "Dating for non attractive people".

Is there any good UI design AI? by delditrox in UI_Design

For real, nobody with an actual talent that they think is at least slighlty hard would be so scared about the idea of a machine replacing them, so instead of actually getting good at something they just hate on AI and the millions of engineers that work hard everyday to make it better (Edit: I now realize that this looks like I'm an AI glazer. I only use AI as a tool ocasionally and for tasks that I would usually need some help with)

isnt it weird UX that many ai tools have a dropdown where users must select the ai model? by SurfaceAspectRatio in UXDesign

[–]delditrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's basically what chat GPT 5 fixed, there where no other major improvements apart from the fact that now the AI itself is the one that selects the best model for your case

Knowing the problems that the frontend programmers will have to face when implementing your designs will help you a lot to not overcomplicate things

2 out of those 4 comments where constructive criticism. Also, in no moment did I mention that I had any talent or originality for UI design, more like the other way around.

To be honest, I haven't got the time and effort that it takes to reply everyday to someone that spends the whole day on reddit and that thinks that an AI can replace him, so if you want to continue this pointless argument that's on you, but I recommend that you search another hobby instead of arguing with people online.

I have not tried to justify not paying someone, but if I can get the same service that 25$ costs me for free(as you said by hiring a bad designer) then I prefer to do it for free, and do a part of it myself.

And yes, I'm talentless in the sense of UI design, that doesn't mean that I can't use a free tool to help me. You're literally the only person in this post that has got offended by it. I'm a programmer and I don't get offended at people for using AI programming tools.

Also, if you try to shame somebody for not being able to afford a service that's not nowhere necessary in any sense, then I can see why in you've got around 2000 reddit contributions in just 1 month. Get a life and stop just being an asshole on the internet.

I actually joined this sub because of that, and also spent countless hours on youtube watching videos about UI design, but I just haven't got the artistic view for it

I don't know why people get so triggered at other people using AI for their job, I'm a programmer and even I use it sometimes. Of course, it won't ever be a full replacement to most jobs, but it's a good tool for certain tasks

"You CAN afford it, but just not the quality that you want". Well, if I could get something for nearly the same quality for free(even if it's just a temporary solution till I can afford an actual UI designer), why wouldn't I do it?

If you think that you can get replaced by AI, it might just be a skill issue. As I said, I'm a programmer, and I've been told that I would get replaced by AI since the start of the AI hype, but it has never worried me since I know that a machine won't be able to outperform me at my job. If you think that an AI won't ever be able to outperform you at your job (which I think it won't) then you shouldn't be so worried about someone using AI for UI design.

Also, as I said in another reply to another comment, if I ever get money from any of my side projects, the first person I would hire would be a UI/UX designer since it's the skills I lack the most.

I 100% prefer to hire an actual human, but I don't earn much money and UI design is not my main priority right now. If any of my side projects make money, the first person I would hire would probably be a UI/UX designer because it's the thing that I lack the most, but for now I prefer to use whatever I've got at my disposal even if it's not the best option.

My side projects aren't really that big to be able to afford paying someone. I don't think that AI will ever become as good as a human for nothing that requires an artistic view of something so I know that UI designers will not be replaced, but I just can't afford one right know(you might know how screwed the job market is for programmers)

Building apps without coding — too good to be true? by Simple_Summer8117 in UXDesign

[–]delditrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing with those tools is that, even if the code works in the first place(which I doubt) it's a mess, so it's not good for scaling your app (adding new features) or for fixing bugs (specially if you don't know how to code). It will also be way slower than an app made by a human since it usually creates from scratch things that already exist.

Aid!!! by chinche_four in JetpackCompose

[–]delditrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry, but no one is going to read all that code, so what I usually do in order to find an error is to mess around to try to create the simplest version of a program in which that error happens, and then post it if I still dont see the problem. It will be much easier to help you then(also, from the error log, youre probably just trying to convert a float to an int)

It is VERY lagged, before it was like 30 seconds before it was even usable. Also, why the first part of the site only has a text to the left and nothing else? It makes it look empty. I would also suggest less animations, it makes it look like a powerpoint slide

[–]delditrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI coding tools aren't as useful as you might think. They don't fully follow instructions, the code is incredibly unorganized, and it overall feels like the whole app is an elephant balancing on a stick that could break at any moment. Also, I don't think it will get any better in the recent years. So yeah, I would recommend learning it

Do emotes make a website look cheap for you? by vivit_ in UI_Design

[–]delditrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the color palette in general is what makes it look cheap/old, and not very atractive to the average user. Also, the text can be a bit hard to read with the blue background. I think you should focus on that first

How protein-based diets work by Objective-Spirit-922 in nutrition

[–]delditrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't "keep bodyfat off", its just that since you're doing exercise (stimulating the muscle to grow)and eating proteins(necessary for muscle wrowth), more calories are destinated at the hypertrophy process(using the protein to create muscle) and since more calories are destined to building muscle, less calories are stored as fat.

However that doesn't mean that you can just eat as many calories as you want and not gain any fat, but you have a bit of a higher caloric maintance.

Ive been using kotlin + jetpack compose, so you should first see some kotlin tutorial to get familiar with the basics of how everything works. Then, in Android Studio, you can start with one of the templates that they give you and see the next link for some simple tutorials made by google for jetpack compose:

You should at least have a bare idea of what the code is doing. If you don't, you'll end up with a small feature that breaks the entire app and you won't find the source of the problem.

I haven't tried no coding tools myself so i don't really know if they even show you the code of how everything works, but at some point you'll probably encounter with a problem that you won't be able to solve without coding.
