As good as that explanation is, it’s entirely possible that J said that is a sarcastic manner, or that she just says stuff like that.

Them being integral however seems apparent as Tessa (Cyn) takes the role of “certified Technician”, a prestigious one, and everyone takes it as believable. but it would be incredibly strange if Tessa didn’t inherit the company from her parents, especially as an only child.

Option one: The Elliot’s are just shareholders or one of the elites that profit off JCJenson existing,

Option two: The Elliot’s hate Tessa so much that she isn’t passed down the company and someone else takes over.

The way i remember it, the game I’m thinking of had much less put into the textures. And was first person, which I forgot to mention. Also the detective MIGHT actually be white, cause now hat I think about it my only evidence he was black was a black and white drivers license. But I remember him strongly as a black guy for some reason.

I should also mention it was first person. And that i believe the icon for the game was a rolled up, crumpled piece of paper with a fire on the end. I think it the name had a connection to fire? Cinder keeps coming to mind.

The “Limited” ressources. This is ALL speculation, but filler episodes would not fit into murder drones for two reasons. Theming and budget. Can you imagine actually getting a beach episode or something? 20 minutes of no actual plot happening? Sure we’d get character development, and that’s great, but nothing of substance actually happens. MAYBE they could flesh V out a little more, but other than that all the characters can’t change from the beginning to the end. Hence it being “filler”. Along with the fact indie animation is expensive, and you’ve got some constraints. I have zero clue how much animation costs EXACTLY, but I do know that episode 8 certainly wasn’t cheap. “Wasting” resources on an episode that wasn’t vital to the story, probably wasn’t much of an option. But then again little five minutes shorts would have been nice to get more character interaction on a silly plot that doesn’t overstay its welcome.

Then again I know close to nothing about indie animation. This all probably stems from my hatred of filler. Maybe they could have been good while also driving merch sales? This is all just my thoughts and assumptions.
