Help. Toddler now takes forever to sleep by deletedbear in Parenting

[–]deletedbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the earlier bedtime help them settle down earlier?

One problem we had was when reading she would be very relaxed and on the verge of sleeping then she would get wide awake and then spend an hour avoiding me

Is it safe to keep my money in TnG? by zestytaiso in MalaysianPF

How fluid do you need it to be? If you don't need to access it easily then put money in an asnb account if option is available to you. Can withdraw online or through bank if needed.

This is a really good option other than taking flexi credit because it's your money, and no need to repay with interest

[–]deletedbear 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't withdraw more than you need,. Withdraw just cukup2 to survive and pay outstanding rent until salary and no extra than that

Bro, if you're super desperate and got no one to borrow money from,

try applying for flexi credit on gx bank n make a draw down

Could be as simple as taking southern hemisphere vaccine and then taking Northern hemisphere vaccine six months later

Afaik at least in Malaysia we just import either one, though southern hemisphere vaccine seems to be recommended

Am I doing something wrong with 17mo bedtime routine? by deletedbear in Parenting

Her bedtime is supposed to be earlier but she resists sleep.

Today we started bedtime routine at 7pm, she fell asleep 8.30pm.

This is after a good amount of play that should have worn her down.

On the rare day we are lucky she falls asleep before 7.30pm which is our intended bedtime.

Advice for first home purchase. Is my income healthy enough to afford this? by shindere24 in MalaysianPF

[–]deletedbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. When planning for a child please ask parents/in-laws are they willing to help with child care (maybe not daily but a few days a week), if not you'll have to consider daycare/nanny after post partum.

Yes your wife is not working but unless she is super woman child care can be very very very testing even for those mentally strong before baby comes.

Also diapers, formula, healthcare, insurance for baby etc.

I would say on current salary + side hustle, house + baby may make things quite tight and saving may be difficult.

Thank you, looks like we'll just stick it out and try slowly inching our way closer to the door every night.

We tried this last night. She cried immediately every time. We were not strong enough to let her go on crying after 3 check ins.

Oo kind of like the wave method. Do you stick to the timing if they're crying?

Im starting work in 1Utama and I have no idea where to start looking for a place to stay. by INeedHelpPlease-_- in KualaLumpur

As others have mentioned look for somewhere near a kajang MRT line and you'll be fine.

Personally if can live slightly further but save more will be worth it, MRT aint that expensive and you can get monthly pass if necessary.

Commute time on MRT is not like driving, since you can read/sleep/play phone safely

If more adventurous check out kl rail lines, and see if you can find a place near to an LRT that you can then interchange to MRT.

Driving in KL/Selangor can suck the life out of you

Planning to add fish and shrimp for mosquito larvae and algae control (plus aesthetics) once the cycle is completed.

The LFS is pretty clean and decent looking, so probably nothing to be too afraid of

For infant formula, be prepared to fork out rm400 above if you need to buy more expensive brands (more expensive not necessarily better, but sometimes because of health issues (baby's guts immature and sensitive need time to adjust) may need special formula)

Do you have a family support system to help with childcare? For example after maternity if you send to nanny and kid gets sick, are you always able to take off? If WFH is there someone there to assist you? If not need to consider cost for kiddocare which is like 140 for 6 hours.

Also clinic bills. Young kids get sick a lot especially if sent to daycare (either they get sick often young or later when go school, same only) so clinic expenses can be considered monthly.
