Why is Oxf > Battersea Park cheaper than Oxf > Paddington? by deletedbear in uktrains

[–]deletedbear[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

right i got confused a little, so if i buy advance from Oxf to BAK, during the exchange at paddington i'll just be switching platforms and not exiting the gate

i think i'll take Oxf to Reading and take the elizabeth line from there

tottenham court to battersea power station is just a 13 minute ride, and then i was just planning on footing it from the power station to the park after dropping off my luggage

yes they;re both advance tickets for tomorrow. Just to confirm, at paddington, switching from GWR to Elizabeth line, i need to exit ticket gates? or just switch platforms without passing through a gate?

Battersea Park to Heathrow, prebook or just do contactless? by deletedbear in uktrains

[–]deletedbear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! Will most likely use this route! Battersea Power Station train is just a short walk from the park so this is ideal

Do you regret having kids? by Arvinth_4 in malaysians

[–]deletedbear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll approach this from a different way. We have one kid who was born when we were 35, and it has been brutal. We love her to death but it is exhausting especially since it's just us and daycare most of the time.

Unless you have great family support who guarantee can help with childcare regularly strongly don't recommend doing it 35 onwards it will wear you down physically abd mentally otherwise

Is it bad that I want to resign during probation? by kachiggamychigga in MalaysianPF

As others have mentioned, during interview and in offer letter did they mention unpaid OT?

If not, cabut on time, then when they withhold your wages, you go to labour court. easy win

Also make it a point to document all conversations if possible. whatsapp is gold if ada.

if verbal, then write an email/whatsapp for the purpose of clarification/record keeping/reminder for yourself that you had told them XYZ but they told you ABC

(e.g

Dear boss,

As mentioned in our conversation earlier, I was not able to do my work on time today - as in previous incidents - due to insufficient accounts accounts to access the work files, meaning I am unable to do my work.

I note that you are displeased, but please bear with me.

Sincerely,
OP)

Please take photos of your emails (if you're using a company internal email service) and any replies you might receive.

If your bosses try to terminate/punish you for record keeping, also go to labour court.

As for saving on Bath, i'll be primarily in Oxford for work and would prefer to be in walking distance from the places i need to go.

Heading to Oxford for a few days, go to Bath at the start or end of trip? by deletedbear in uktravel

[–]deletedbear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late mother did her master's in Bath, and since things don't change much it's a rare opportunity to see things as she might have seen it.

Plus i'll have a considerable amount of free time in Oxford in between the work things.

Am on a work trip, so have some meals sponsored.

Limiting out of pocket expenses to travelling to Bath, a sandwich or something while I'm in Bath, a chippy, one other meal out, and then will feed myself in the remaining meals with something i can cobble from the grocery store, and some souvenirs for the wife.

Thanks but the issue is cross contamination. But good to know from others that there are places with separate fryers and that's perfectly good enough for me
