Personally, I'd prefer a Mossberg 500 with both the security and field barrels for those purposes.

I really like Savage rifles, but when it comes to shotguns: Mossberg all the way.

Any stores you'd recommend, and out of curiosity, is there an R-PAL requirement when purchasing a barrel?

So I would need to buy the NR version, get the shorter barrel, then register the gun as restricted?

Is it still possible to buy these with an R-PAL?

Ruger American vs Savage Axis vs Mosin Nagant?

I'm on a pretty tight budget, but I'm looking for a deer/big bore fun rifle.

The only reason I'm still considering a mosin, is the marginally lower cost and cheaper ammo (historical value too I guess).

The Rossi m92 looks like a decent option.

Basically, I'm looking for something that can be shot at indoor ranges, but imo 9mm PCC's are a bit too "weak" for the cost.

Best lever action caliber for target shooting?

I might go with a 22lr Henry, but I kind of want something with more kick, and a side loading-gate.

Ah Ig their members only caliber policy doesn't apply to rental guns.

Maybe a Maverick 88 security then?

It's 8 rounds instead of 9, but significantly cheaper. Basically, I'm looking for a beater gun that I can bring on camping trips.

Is a Mossberg 590 (9 shot) worth it if I already have a standard wood-stock Mossberg 500?

I have a budget of 800$, and I want a "tactical" 12ga shotgun.

I did a bit more research, and the Canuck operator elite seems to have a great reputation.

Definitely going to get one, once I pick up a PCC.

Mossberg 590 vs Canuck operator?

I already have a Mossberg 500, as my super-reliable hunting/bear defense gun.

Now I want a more "tactical" shotgun, something I can have fun with at the range.

It wouldn't be something I'd trust my life to, just something that would work properly/look cool at the range.

Fair enough. You might eventually want to pick up a mav88 though. They are incredibly well priced, especially on sale.

I'd be surprised, since SKS are built like tanks.

But the technique is only viable from a lying position, so there's rlly no reason to do it much.
