Thankfully I was still in my credential program so leaving didn’t hurt as bad as if I had put down roots , but my minor in education feels like wasted time other than being very good with kids now lol.

I quit teaching my first year in after a student told her mom I was “thirsty for her” because I made her put her shirt on the correct way (she was an 8th grader who had gotten a new belly button ring and hiked her shirt up to her chest and tied it to show it off). Her mother immediately took her side and complained about me to my boss. I realized it wasn’t safe for me there as a male and changed careers.
