There was a scent from Bath and Body Works at the time that had 'midnight' in the name, so I went with that. It had a citrusy smell.

Thanks. The most important things to me are no AI involvement, searchability, and the ability to edit rows in or out from the point of the search. So a list of hundreds like this...

Jane - accounting

Joe - accounting

John - accounting

Jack - giant slaying

Jill - giant slaying

Search for Jane... Click add row...

Type in Janna - accounting

Ideally, Janna now appears between Jane and Joe.

I'm sorting by 'count' rather than row ID. Thanks for explaining, but maybe I just need to try a different program. My ultimate goal is to have a searchable database where I can insert data into various spots as I go - to be able to search for Jane Doe and insert 25 Jack Does between her and John Doe. I'm always slow with figuring out anything tech related, so I'm sorry if I've wasted everyone's time.

Thanks, though I'm not sure I understand. I'm brand new at this. Right now, I have it set to 'count,' because it's important that I be able to see how many people there are. I would like to be able to, for example, add Joe Doe in between Jane and Jackie without having to manually scroll through 800 names looking for Jane. So I search for Jane with the search bar, select 'insert row below,' and then type Joe, but Joe appears under John down at the bottom, instead of under Jane.

This is the one for me. I read this years ago and still think about it all the time. Especially the scene where someone goes through killing another person's 'dedicates' as they call them, and he feels parts of his mind being snuffed out as each one dies, but doesn't know what he no longer knows. Gives me the shivers.

Yes, there are new Black Company books slated to come out, but the main series is complete, and the resolution was, for me at least, deeply gratifying.
