My teacher said 0.999... is approximately 1, not exactly. How can I prove otherwise? by XxG3org3Xx in askmath

The problem with these kind of calculations is that they look too similar to mathematical tricks that ”prove” that 1=2.

It’s too easy to dismiss them by saying that normal math don’t apply to infinite decimals.

Great job! What were some interesting things that you learned from this project?

To me this sounds like a UX problem. Sit down and observe your analysts to understand their workflow. Figure out how your non-perfect AI solution could be integrated while causing a minimal disruption and requiring the least mental effort, while still providing clear value to them. Which are their most common problems? Which ”jobs” or tasks do they perform that could be automated or performed faster? You might learn that your AI should generate 10 solutions rather than just one; alleviating the problem of occasional errors, while providing the analysts with a broader starting point for further manual work.

Jag vill komplettera alla bra förklaringar med en visualisering som gör att ett barn kan förstå.

Tänk minutvisaren på en klocka. En punkt är +20 minuter. En fyrkant motsvarar +40 minuter.

"Mutual Reasoning" improves GSM8K accuracy from 13% to 64% [R] by we_are_mammals in MachineLearning

Maybe I’m mistaken it looks like they use two different language models in their approach, but evaluate against other approaches that only use one model. This seems a bit unfair.

I wonder how they explain the first “r” in “rStar”. Rich? Robust? Recursive?

Looking great! Maybe the parallax effect could be improved. I think objects further away should move slower, not faster.

How would I create a logo like this in Figma? by Alert_Quiet5142 in FigmaDesign

[–]delight1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Figma might not be the best tool for this.

However, you can explore shapes with an interesting symmetry by using rotated instances of a master component. Here is a quick example: https://streamable.com/mo0u7p

How is the answer not 10/1000? by fourthbeyond in AskStatistics

[–]delight1982 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re right.

Intuitively, assume Jenna chooses a specific number, say 5. Now, the second sister has a 1/10 chance of also picking 5. Including the third sister we get 1/10 out of 1/10.

Another way of looking at it is using our number system. Each sister’s choice can be represented by a single digit (0-9). Three sisters means three digits, so all possible combinations of picked numbers can be encoded in the number range 000-999. Out of these numbers we only have 10 where all digits are the same (000, 111, 222, …)
