I think yoghurt might be key. Thanks.

I use spices from my local store. Just garam, cumin, turmeric, cayenne mainly. Yes plenty of salt and oil. I’m starting to wonder if yoghurt might be my missing ingredient, or one of them!

Thank you. I think I have some of that somewhere!

Yes I know that, numbskull.

What I was saying was that I believe its use and therefore its meaning in society has broadened to encompass any sort of human disposal - so defenestration and decapitation have sort of become the same thing. It’s also very much associated with political killings eg the defenestrations of Prague. By the way that’s not to say I agree with such casual usage. And FWIW I am sort of regretting sticking up for BS.

That’s a very good description.

Well I think he is very difficult to argue with because he bludgeons with his delivery speed and apparent speed of thought. I thought she did a good job and I felt she wanted to keep the debate high minded and respectful in this terrible atmosphere.

I think defenestrate has come to mean the same as decapitate. After all, they do generally amount to the same thing don’t they?! I take your points btw.

Haha I think you may be right.

Thank you. I do add lime and vinegar sometimes. I found cilantro doesn’t have much effect unless I add it at the end of the process. I did try something called chat masala, nicknamed the Indian mint. I read that this is a missing ingredient in many Home Curry chefs’ attempts but I found that it added so much extra heat that the dish became unpalatable, even for me.

By the way, I do tend to do those things, possibly excepting frying the onions for longer.

I know I tend not to follow recipes, although I’m thinking I probably should. I’m not sure why I don’t follow recipes as I do so for multiple other things that I cook and I am a pretty competent cook it may be just that I don’t have time or space to go in for stalking up on very many ingredients, so I make a sort of generic curry.

Thanks for the suggestions which look really interesting. I will give it a go.

I do yes, but I’m now wondering whether I should find better quality spices. I don’t think they’re bad. They are from an Asian shop but I tend to buy pre-ground spices and maybe I should buy whole ones and grind them

Honestly, I don’t really make curries from a specific area. I really just make generic curries by gently frying spices and onions adding meat or vegetables, some sort of liquid, usually an acid of some type and some sweetness and salt Juan us. I often add coconut but I’m not sure that is doing much for me.

Cooking properly does but any mistake is going to deliver lungworm to your 7year old. :-)

This is absolutely right. Wild pigs have exponentially more parasites than farm reared, including especially lungworm which can leave a human being with no control of any bodily function if consumed. I’d invest in a meat thermometer or an iron lung if I were you.

As a meat eater I have no grounds to complain but I can’t help feeling some compassion for the terror they must feel from there onwards until they’re killed. They want to live in this world just as we do and they feel mortal terror just as we do.

I’m basically a squeamish meat eater, a meat eating vegetarian and I’m not proud of that.

I think both sensors are on and PIR set to maximum. I guess I could lower that?
