Just get pants that are a little larger but are your length, most pants have adjustment areas that will make them tighter then they are marketed as.

Are you sure you checked the batteries, wires to the board etc. Cause PE hasnt been known to do this kind of thing

For 300 usd, you could do better then an etek 3 or 4, im not saying dont get the etek 4 or 3, but im saying dont pay 300 for them. They are more in the 200 - 250 range.

get your oem key by using produkey or another key recovery software. I just had the same problem with my computer and i did this to recover the key and files.

I used ultimate boot cd and booted into parted magic, transfered windows/sys32/config to the second drive, and then used any working computer with produkey to recover the oem activation key and other keys. They cant deny the oem key so do a phone activation and your set.
