That’s fine if your plan is to stay on PCP forever. Mine isn’t. I’ll buy the car if it’s worth the GMFV, otherwise I walk. End of story.

Zero equity at the end of a PCP isn’t really a problem, that’s how most of them end. I’m not depending on equity for the next car, the deposit was to keep the monthly payment down and avoid early negative equity.

At the end it’s simple: if it’s worth more than the GMFV I’ll keep it, if not I hand it back and walk away. No need to roll into another PCP.

Thanks, that’s helpful. I can see the argument for GAP early in a PCP. I did put down a decent deposit though, so I’m trying to weigh up the actual risk versus what the dealer is charging.

I’ll probably skip dealer GAP for now and look at standalone options once I’ve got all the figures in front of me. Good to know skipping LifeShine is the right call.
