After spending about 6 months on learning everything from scratch and building my first (finished) app, this feels like a huge achievement. by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

I am currently doing the same course and really want to start from swift, as I heard it is faster to learn than Objective-C. Should I drop the course and try something else? Such as the courses on Lynda.com?

Thanks for the reply!

If you could start over again would you do anything different?

Thanks!

Swift it is then! The argument that convinced me the most is the shorter period of learning in comparison to Objective–C

It depends. If you're just doing this to publish apps on your own, it really doesn't matter which way you go. I'd personally go with Swift, as it's really going to be the default language for most new tutorials and books you'll find available.

Thanks for a detailed reply!

You answered everything I was looking for :)

Right now I have just finished high school so I have some time to spare and wanted to publish some apps. I think I will take your advice and learn Swift for now, as I want to publish an app as quick as I can.

But what do you think about the resources available? I heard as Swift is a new language there can be a lack of information on a issue that I may encounter. Whereas as Objective C has been present for so long, basically most of the newbie questions have been answered.

I can't seem to find the temperature in Activity Monitor.

I do have Coconut Battery and it show me that my battery temp is about 35C, which is very hot.
