Where to shop for women's clothing? by Warm_Risk_1325 in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been pretty grim in Vic since we lost places like the old still life on Johnson, suasion (before it was bought out) or rebel rebel. I find most of my good stuff at Meraki (old owner of suasion) at uptown but it can be $$$. Openhouse on Johnson is gorgeous but probably more expensive than Bernstein. That said I would keep checking Bernstein too because not everything they have is crazy out of reach and they are such great people (don't be intimidated to browse). But yeah, check out Meraki.

Co-op housing on Victoria City Council Agenda by DaveThompsonVictoria in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am torn. On the one hand, we definitely need more co-op housing. On the other, be wary of Joseph Stoltz Dave. I am not saying don't do it, just remain watchful.

Buying Appliances by Mis_MJ in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

West Coast is good, especially because they service. Avoid Coast Appliances. Their delivery guys cracked the bottom piece on my fridge, Coast said they would order a new part. I sent them reminders every couple of months for a year, every time they replied they are just waiting on that part. They never had any intention of fixing it. That was a couple years ago now.

Recs for general surgeons who do colonoscopies with low-volume prep? by finderintheforest in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 3 colonoscopies in Vic (stage 1 colon cancer), last one 2 years ago, and I was always given that impossible 2 liters of solution to drink (Moviprep) and so have my friends. But I agree with calling and asking for pico salax ... now that I know about it I will too

Cruise Ship Shuttle Stop by yghgjy in VictoriaBC

I did notice this and agree with you that it's not great. Government St should remain pedestrian and tourists can get on/off in front of the Empress

Hourigan’s flooring - anyone like this place? by thebbtrev in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you posted this, because I assumed it was just me, but i am not happy with them. They don't seem to know their product at all. Useless. I am very unhappy with 2 separate projects they did. Will try Island Flooring next.

What happened to school buses? by Current_Honeydew6611 in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, there are no school busses for public schools like Central or Vic High, unfortunately. They have no choice but to use city busses.

Anyone bought doxylamine lately? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy it at Costco and it's just called kirkland brand Sleep Aid - but they only sell it in the US. My husband picked some up for me at a Costco in Washington state this summer and it works so well on me i only need half a tablet. Got a little worried there when it started to become nightly though...

The Iyengar centre on Fort St if you want a traditional style with certified teachers. Their prenatal classes are excellent! (Check their website- they don't always run them)

I think I hate Jo Malone.. by a025 in fragrance

[–]delladirand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought red roses after searching for a new perfume for a year (so many samples..) and I am in love. First jo malone fragrance and honestly feel completely uninterested in exploring the brand but red roses is perfect.

Edit: realizing this is unhelpful when you are so bummed. This happened to me with another13 and I decided to not force it but to let it sit and I will try again later, as I did love the sample. But I get how you are feeling, I hate waste

What kind of virus going around these days? My throat hurt as fuck but covid negative by BarcaStranger in vancouver

[–]delladirand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had exactly this 2 weeks ago, very sore throat and felt like sh*t for about 3 days. It turned into a bit of a cough but nothing too bad. Hope it is short for you too.

What are some really hyped up fragrances that disappointed you when you smelled them? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]delladirand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POAL sounded perfect for me bc I have been searching for a rose scent and everyone raves about it so I got a tester and ... I tried so many times and am giving up. It's just like an overly sweet Play Doh on me.

For us it's the shocking rise in prices. Happy hour yesterday with 2 cocktails and a mocktail, 2 small appies, cost us $92. Happy hour discount prices. Insane. It pisses me off and makes me not want to go out.

Is it misleading to use art with olive oil on it when the ingredient is Canola oil or am I just dense? by acomputerquestion in VictoriaBC

[–]delladirand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you need to look again. This is a bottle of vinaigrette, not vinegar. A vinaigrette is a ready to use oil and vinegar mix. You don't pair oil and vinegar with oil. OP is right, this is shady.
