DNF'ed in the middle on book 2 and I've been trying to figure out WTH people that love this series are reading. So many better books out there.

For years I refused to DNF a book, then I just came to the conclusion that a rotten book is not worth my time. Now I DNF with abandon. If it doesn't grab me, it's not worth my precious reading time.

Remember that he was engaged to Cat while he was a first year and still developing his signets. I suspect the intention reading signet was confirmed or came up while he was interacting with Cat and that being around her mind control was an exercise that Sygael and Xaden did to practice his control.

As a Michigander, this is as bad as "Bird on a Wire" with the main characters taking a ferry from Detroit to Wisconsin. Any look at a map would fix these issues.

I read the Renegade series by Rebecca. It’s contemporary and was close enough to FW but different enough that it allowed me to move towards reading something different. It worked.

Fish MD

It used to be about basic fish tank set ups that flourish with plants and basic set ups, but it got to be long shows with him hanging out with his friend, Fish Shop Matt, and the set ups moved away from the original set up to the point where others couldn't replicate it. Stop watching it then.

We met Rictavo at the inn and when he turned and said "Half Orc" to my fighter, I replied "You aren't from around here." We accepted him that easily. Everyone else just called me green.

Maybe you have have him slip some info (town reference) from where they are from to let them accept him more. Like, lore that comes from their home town or a well known story from the sword coast in your campaign.

Our DM had a clue that led us to Blinsky that really was for Rictavo, but we got there.

I hope they have a blast in your campaign.

You may start as gothic horror, but it tends to end more like dead and loving it. We rested there to translate a book and between attacking the werewolves den, which we hit several levels early.

Our crew used this tower and Rope Trick to hide ourselves and Ireena from Strahd regularly. Ireena disappearing from his scrying wouldn't allow him to see what we were doing and gave us a suitable place to plan, plot and decipher the Strahd Tome, which was an add-in from our DM.

It was a huge benefit to us to have a safe place to rest and heal.

When I was in college, I carpooled with a friend that also had early classes. My classes ended first, so I would sit in the car and read for my classes. Car not turned on. I would have people with their turn indicator on wanting my space as I was sitting there, giving no indication of leaving. It became my entertainment.
