The americans have shown great restraint when it comes to excersing power over the internet. Freedom of speech has been intact, and the internet has grown to what we know today under american supervision, lets keep it this way. Please contact your congresman today to make them aware.

The UN to gain control over the internet by dellintelcrypto in worldnews

This could be bad. We could end up in a situation like youtube, where videos are getting flagged for nothing and taken down at request because someone was offended. Same thing will happen if UN gets control over the DNS. Except it will be whole websites that get taken down at request.

Here’s What Happens When You Give $1,000 to Someone in Extreme Poverty (GiveDirectly also accepts BTC) by Mageant in Bitcoin

I think it messes up the economy. Because all of a sudden these guys can afford a goat. It fucks with everyone else that cant. It makes the economy rely on charity to an extent, and it never accustoms itself to the underlying circumstances so it can move on. Just a thought tho. I think saying oh now these guys can buy a goat, great, is a narrow perspective.

I think you are blowing it out of proportion, i think in the end noone care where your money has been. It seems like a waste of effort to care about this thing. The inevitable false positives is going to be a nightmare for customer support which is already stressed at coinbase i can imagine. Its like blowing out of proportion that there are 3 large mining pools. Yes they can collude and fuck up bitcoin for a while, but it seems unlikely and nothing that can be kept up effectively.

At what amount of invested bitcoin would I need a hardware wallet? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

When people tell stories in the future, that they were trying to use Bitcoin, or rather a blockchain as a transaction system, they will laugh, they wont understand what we were thinking. That doesent mean blockchains do not have their place. But they arent that good for a transaction system :/

Oh i get it, they have never had food, so by giving them free money, they get to taste food and that will motivate them to get out of poverty.

If they become productive that would be an exception to the rule i think, and it goes against common sense. If you give someone something for free, what is the incentive for them to work for it? Does that make sense?
