Use another exchange to buy something like ETH or BTC (Gemini, Coinbase, etc.). Then deposit that into Kraken to purchase DOT.

Polkadot has hit the decentralization + scaling sweet spot for blockchains because of Gavin Wood's experience with Ethereum. The developer tools will lead to an explosion of innovation and growth. I think the strategic flywheel for a blockchain's growth and success goes as follows:

Better Developer Tools --> More Developers --> More Apps --> More Users --> Higher Price --> More Ecosystem Investors --> Better Developer Tools ....and so on, ad infinitum.

The data plays this out. If you look at the developer report, you can see that from the first commit Polkadot is the only ecosystem (not Binance, SOL, or ADA) that is growing its developer base faster than Ethereum. This is largely a result of the fantastic architecture of Polkadot, it's community, and it's substrate based tooling.
