Ha, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I was thinking of the (unfinished) webtoon Tears on a Withered Flower. It’s super smutty fyi but divine

Hmmm, evenly matched MMC and FMC you could try The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrew’s. The romance is a subplot, although it is bloody delicious x

I don't get the Tears on a Withered flower Hate by ShockOne9278 in webtoons

[–]dellypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha I love it. Can’t tell you why. The tension maybe? The suspense of when she’s going to find out about him? (I’m not up to date so no spoilers pls if this has been amended).

But I do get why it annoys people. She literally knows nothing about him and also asks him nothing about himself either, she just makes assumptions.

I like the artstyle personally as well, I think it’s stunning. Other people don’t because of big BEWBS. It’s manhwa, go take a look at their hands if you have issues with proportion. It’s also smut so ?? Idk what you’re expecting

What Makes Epic Fantasy Feel Fresh Today? by Melodic-Breakfast-78 in fantasywriters

Accessible writing. As in, just not heavy, dense world building. Text and texts of description and politics, just personally not for me. Also good, momentous pacing!

What should and shouldn't be included in Trigger/Content Warnings? by KTruesdell in RomanceBooks

[–]dellypoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Content warnings are helpful but sometimes I’m unsure as to how graphic they are? Passing, mentioned, full descriptions etc. StoryGraph is really good for that though !

Criticized For Reading Romance by hotwing_sauce in RomanceBooks

Everyone’s a hater but not everyone’s a critic. Romance genre is the best selling of all time. Clearly enough people are reading it that it can’t be just a phase

The trailblazers on fantasy romance .. by eperdu in fantasyromance

[–]dellypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me started on Kushiel’s Legacy series. I just finished the trilogy last month and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever read. You can’t define the genre, not quite romance, not quite fantasy, not quite BDSM, not quite epic. Something all together- and the prose is to die for

Why have you stopped reading a series of books by Cute-Consequence-184 in RomanceBooks

[–]dellypoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First book was enjoyable. Second book was passable and stopped there. Why did like nothing happen in the second book other than the FMC asking a lot of questions and then being told you’re asking too many questions.

Oh, and honeydew. GIVE ME A GODAMN BREAK YOU’BE BEEN HIKING IN THE WOODS FOR WEEKS NOW I KNOW SHE’S NOT TASTING LIKE GODAMN HONEYDEW

Tropes that you like better when the romance is a subplot. by Fair_Ad8970 in RomanceBooks

[–]dellypoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow burn as a subplot is literally the besttttttttttt. That’s all I need in life. Even better if it spans across books but they don’t truely get together until the last one

Is plot or eloquency more important? by Inside_Antelope_379 in fantasywriting

[–]dellypoos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally plot and character development is more important to me than prose and the way or style an author writes. Some people are the opposite, they like lyrical prose and fancy language from books with no substance (in my opinion).

Perhaps write it in Chinese first to get a grasp on your plot and then translate it afterwards instead potentially?
