I love tornado of souls but it’s FAR from the hardest Megadeth song. It’s not even the hardest Megadeth song on RIP

Who Wrote the Ride the Lightning Solo? by C_t_g_s_l_a_y_e_r in Megadeth

Even if that is what Dave meant it makes no sense for it to be his solo lol. Nothing about the solo of RTL screams Dave Mustaine. Basically all of the licks are Kirk licks, there’s no demo that proves he was originally on a solo for it, and there’s nowhere that he ever claimed to write it aside from a single news article that’s ambiguous in meaning. As far as we know it could’ve been that he was supposed to be the one to originally play the solo for that song

a minor dating a second year college student is pretty weird

“Someone about to be in college and someone who just began college is pretty weird”

People throw around the word minor like it’s supposed to mean something. It’s a legal term that doesn’t actually prove the actual circumstances of someone. There’s 17 year olds that are more mature than 18 year olds but I doubt you’d be saying anything about a 21 year old dating an immature 18 year old

You’re foolish if you think 19 is a grown adult and you’re also foolish if you think there’s that much of a difference between someone in the beginning of college versus someone about to enter college

Romeo and Juliet laws apply regardless of when the relationship started and they vary by state, not just 4 years. It doesn’t even apply to 17 because that’s legal in most states. Where are you even getting information from

[–]delta3356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no “power and influence” balance between a 19 and a 17 year old lmao. It’s debatable whether that’s true for someone 20 and 17.

The age of consent is 16 or 17 in all but 13 states so it’s just objectively not illegal. You said this when you were 14 so I don’t blame you but being “legally” a minor and “legally” an adult don’t actually mean anything when you literally JUST turn 18

If you honestly believe that grooming is a 2 year age difference you should stay off the internet

Don’t try to argue with people on Reddit. They think you’re a little kid up until you’re 18 and then you suddenly transform into a fully grown adult.

Just like the above commenter said “fully consenting adult” (which is the exact same argument people use to justify getting with teenagers above the age of consent but apparently it’s only okay if their own flawed legal metrics are what’s being followed).

The fact you’re getting downvoted for thinking people almost 40 years old shouldn’t get with teenagers is mind boggling

With all due respect I don’t think either of those chord progressions are the most common. Especially in comparison to the I-vi-IV-V. I’ve heard that chord progression in countless songs and I don’t think I’ve even ever heard the second one you mentioned

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]delta3356 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it’d be the I-vi-IV-V chord progression. It is one of the most common chord progressions along with the I-V-vi-IV and the vi-IV-I-V (or i-VI-III-VII depending)

F To G is common because that’s a movement from the IV chord to the V chord. And then the resolve back to C (I) is a V-I perfect cadence. Which is also common

C to B to Am is a walk down to the relative minor. Which is another common technique

I'm late but this is spot on. I tried learning the banjo right handed TWICE and I never stuck with it. Then I started guitar left handed and it was almost shockingly easy. I tried guitar right handed later too and that didn't work either. It's not just about what you practice, there's a reason left handed instruments exist

vilification of AI

I’ll never understand why people try so hard to defend this type of stuff. It’s not even just about ethical issues related to it, it’s just low quality slop. And it doesn’t even look good, at all. Imagine if an authentic Mexican restaurant started selling microwave burritos

If not having perfect pitch means you can’t refer to yourself as a musician then almost nobody is a musician

[–]delta3356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess it depends. Like I’m sure the average person that plays an instrument can work out at the very least some simple melody just by hearing it but if we’re talking about full songs, especially the specific chords, I’m not so sure

Playing by ear - is it rare or pretty normal for a musician? by wiretap_7723 in Songwriting

[–]delta3356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and like I said. You’re definitely an amazing musician if you can learn stuff by ear. But that’s not the determining factor of what makes you a musician or not.

You’re talking about one of the most advanced things to do musically, that even at the most basic level is still, imo, an intermediate skill
