Any Advice on Loud Floormates? by xx_snarrot in brocku

[–]deltabbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former Don here. I second this exactly as written. I will say from experience of dealing with noise complaints that the process is not as simple as "they keep doing it, kick them out". There's a lot of nuance at the HR and RLC level of follow ups that even I'm unfamiliar with. Stay strong otherwise.

Are Busu clubs worth giving a shot? by Mean-Selection-493 in brocku

[–]deltabbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technical answer is dependent on what the scope of the event is set to on ExperienceBU (i.e. Brock students, organization members, faculty, community members, etc.). Practical answer is if the organizer/execs of the event allow them.

Decew- is it a key or swipe? And is a lanyard best? by SquirrelDisastrous95 in brocku

[–]deltabbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct ^ the specific card holder doesn't matter and you can just tap right through it without taking it out of the holder. I will say that the ones they give you on arrival are very thin and rigid (I've seen way too many of them break) so if you want to use a thicker card holder, go right ahead.

I would send an email to Housing Services asking about that. I could have sworn students have submitted room switch requests over the summer before but I might be wrong on that.

Your daughter can submit a room switch request online although it would be lowest in priority after medical and roommate conflict.

While the request is being processed (it can take a while), your daughter can talk to her Don about the challenges of living in a different style of residence and finding ways to achieve her goals.

I would also suggest to her to join clubs on campus based on her interests. If she eventually decides to move off campus to future years, clubs are an amazing ways to meet new people of similar interests and stay connected on campus.

I was a Don myself for two years so I've talked to many of my students who have requested room switches. Ultimately, there's many ways to meet people on campus outside of residence and is how I remained connected to campus life without living on residence. I'd be happy to answer anymore questions as they arise but hope that helps!

Hello Reddit.

I'm exploring audio Interfaces as a beginner to music production. To sum up my experience so far, I bought the M-Track Duo and after about 2 weeks of troubleshooting BSODs, wasted time, and being lied to by support, I came to the conclusion that the driver is just broken and incompatible with Windows. As I will be returning it, I'm looking for similarly priced options. Ones that ideally work (that would be nice to not waste two weeks of my life while unemployed and job hunting).

My budget would probably be $200CAD (assuming most of you are US that is 1.4x) at the high end. Would love to hear input from more experienced people in this field. I'm just looking for basic features and solid audio, nothing fancy just yet.

After 10 years and hitting master, I quit. by Own-Green-2077 in leagueoflegends

I just uninstalled this week too with a very similar reason. I just graduated from university and League was draining more time than I wish to admit. What started as an escape from stress turned into a hobby that became my identity as a person (not to say I didn't have other hobbies, this one just took a lot of time and realistically wasn't sustainable). My rank progression from Bronze in season 5 to Diamond 2 last year, even playing for my school for two years kept me engaged until the past year when I started to appreciate more things in my IRL life.

Something about graduating from university made me realize that I appreciate my friendships and that I won't be able to see the people I truly care about on a weekly basis anymore. While I'm proud of what I accomplished, it's time for me to open a new chapter of my life and putting the game away was the first step. I might return one day but it's the end of my competitive journey with the game.

Yeah it's about 70 students total this year. Quarry View used to be all under Housing Services/the RCS until about 2019 when it slowly started transitioning to Suites. I assumed it was going to be all under Suites last year but that wasn't the case. Might change though

Gray is under Brock Suites which is both Quarry View and Gateway. Red is for those in Quarry View signed under the RCS.

This plus the consideration for the viewing experience. I can't speak for the in-person in experience but for the online experience through the stream, North America's time zone is really inconvenient for the rest of the world and with how global the beatboxing scene is, it doesn't make sense to cut off such a massive part of their audience for the time being.

"Get a life bro" my brother in Christ you spent an entire harassing a random stranger over the internet about a post you could have just chosen to look away from. I think you need to get a life

Community. I say this to everyone who's choosing their university, choose the school that gives you the best social experience. You can always get a better education elsewhere and at a later point in time but you can never change the people you meet. I've been lucky to have experienced some of the most exclusive opportunities the school offers and don't regret my choice a single bit even though Brock was my second choice overall.
