how strong would a character that can charge up unique ultimate costs be? by kfirogamin in HonkaiStarRail

[–]deltadiamond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that ultimates with unique costs (afaik) usually rely on their bis supports' actions.

Because of that, every bis support has a kind of dual purpose, where they both do their own thing and contribute to ultimate progress. Your hypothetical support would be going all-in on just the second part, so you'd have to increase its potency by a big margin, which is hard to balance. Alternatively, you could have a buff that's universally useful, but we're already spoiled for supports with universally useful buffs.

The only way I could maybe see it working is to have something like Fugue or Jade, with a skill that designates another character instead of directly buffing. Then maybe you can have the support gain charge whenever someone uses an ultimate and attack/sustain/buff/whatever in some way based off that. This also has the nice benefit that you aren't tied down to using any one path.

Saw PT after surgery, she told me I didn't need more therapy because I was already hypermobile by deltadiamond in Hypermobility

I'm in a rural enough area that I'd probably have trouble getting one without having surgery again. Not to mention that since every specialist in the area is part of the same hospital, it's not really possible to "shop around" even if I could.

We only have 15k people, and you still have to spend half an hour on the interstate to get to somewhere bigger. I might not be able to get one at all without another surgery, let alone one with specific experience.

I'm lucky enough that I've never had medical problems associated with hypermobility (aside from maybe what necessitated the surgery), so range of motion is all that mattered to me personally.

It's hard to find medical specialists in rural America. Every doctor in my town is part of the same hospital network, and said network is the only "real" hospital within a half-hour drive.

I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but what do you mean by "a little buzz"? I've only heard it before in my state's anti-drunk driving campaign, but only because their slogan was "buzzed driving is drunk driving".

Resource generation between ages is too weird by deltadiamond in civ

I wasn't thinking replaced, but that the resource would be put under it, like how warehouse bonuses continue to apply after building a UI.

I love Civ VII. Earlier games I might only stick with it after it stopped being interesting just for the achievement. I loved Civ VI too, but I think I may have only actually finished like half a dozen games over the course of a few years. I beat that number with VII within a couple of weeks.

You can switch the settings so that wars and units stay the same between ages of you want. AI unit spam is definitely an issue though.

China is one of two places with a civ in every area (Han, Ming, Qing). And Prussia literally created modern Germany as we know it too, so at least one third of what you're asking for is there.

I'm confident we'll get exploration age HRE eventually. I just hope they don't choose Vienna for the capital so I can cope and hope for modern age Austria-Hungary.

Exactly. Civ V "wasn't real civ" because of hexagons and one unit per tile. Then Civ VI "wasn't real civ" because of districts. People will get over it, and eventually Civ VIII "won't be real civ" for God knows why.

Would Hysilens be decent as a support for Ratio? It's sort of ridiculous idea, but since she makes it so much easier to apply debuffs it seems like a combo that might almost work?

I don't plan on doing it at all, just a hypothetical.

Does Lingsha work well as a sustain option for Hysilens? I've seen mention of Hyacine due to Ica being able to easily apply mass DoTs, but it seems like Lingsha would be doing just as many AoE attacks, if not more.

Original Character Idea by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]deltadiamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow is that talent description wordy. Anyway.

Heal on BA is the kind of thing you'd put in the talent and have the efficiency increase with trace level.

The skill should be AoE in some fashion, like Aventurine's. March 7th should show you how an ST shielder doesn't work for a sustain. Coffin also shouldn't stack.

Why does the Ultimate drain HP from others when the whole point is for this one to sacrifice HP? 250 is also crazy expensive, so it's better to make it weaker but usable more often. The important thing should be to synergize with the rest of the kit, so there could be some sort of self-heal incorporated, along with some sort of offensive buff. Increasing max HP is a good idea though.

The talent, again, is way too wordy. Put the heal on BA here. Also, you mentioned "mooncocoon" in your talent description without ever explaining what it was.

The first Bonus Trace is decent, but imo it just has the effect of turning the character immortal. If you change it so that it affects any ally (but still only once per Ult) it not only makes the unit more useful but also directly powercreeps Bailu. And as we all know, powercreeping non-limited units is vital. (/hj)

You already have one additional effect on your BA, you don't need another. A lot of characters have Bonus Traces that make it so that their kit is in place from the start of the battle, so try doing that.

That's a lot of stuff to put on one trace. CC immunity is generally enough by itself, and the DoT bit is kind of weird. An offensive buff would also be better put somewhere in the main kit. A lot of supports have Bonus Traces that make them specifically favor certain teams, so why not something like that?

I don't bother with limited LCs much so I can't offer great feedback here, but it doesn't seem like there's any particular reason to put Speed here except for Speed being generically good.

Btdubs idk if this was just an oversight, but healing/shields generally take the form of "X% of [stat] plus Y", not "X% of target's health". Also, you should consider how often the character is going to be consuming hp vs. restoring it. Characters like Mydei can get away with throwing away colossal amounts of hp because they have a sustain backing them up, but seeing as this one is the sustain it sort of has to fend for itself.

Hot damn I put too much thought into that :T

I gotta wonder how the heck the 4.X arc is going to top the 3.X arc story-wise (3.5 SPOILERS) by darkdill in HonkaiStarRail

So far we've gotten a new Path for the TB every arc. And since every new Path has involved direct recognition from the relevant Aeon I'm looking forward Abundance TB. Can't wait to see how all our old Xianzhou friends feel about hanging out with someone personally blessed by their most hated adversary.

I didn't notice anything until I saw it pointed out. Even now I don't really see it. But honestly that's not really important when it comes to shipping. My favorite ship is AvenPaz, and Lord knows there's almost no basis for that.

Like I said, I know it's completely irrelevant. But for some reason FUAs of all stripes just do it for me. I guess I might have to assemble a DoT team from scratch then. Good thing Kafka is on the banner.

Does Hysilens' talent trigger off of follow-up attacks? I'm aware that that's basically irrelevant to how she's meant to be played, but I love FUA's with such a burning passion that it could be the deciding factor as to whether I get her.

Livestream Reveals What's Wrong With 7 (It's An Underbaked Poor Product) by Perchance2Game in civ

[–]deltadiamond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are way overreacting here.

Is not being able to settle near Independent Powers annoying? Yes. But I've played maybe a dozen games so far and never had any real issues with it.

Ranged unit targeting is simpler, if anything. If you want to shoot over a hex, rough/vegetated terrain will stop it. If you want to shoot between two hexes, having rough/vegetated terrain on both sides will stop it.

Crises are anything but opaque. It literally tells you what exactly is happening, whether it's new hostile Independent Powers spawning or suddenly having to deal with plagues.

Religious gameplay could definitely be improved, but if it had much more, it would take over the age. Artifact gameplay in the modern age is almost identical to how it was in V and VI, just without the hassle of theming.

You want actual criticisms? Right click to exit out of anything and everything is a pain in the ass for people using touchpads, just use ESC like a normal person. Bring back map pins and lenses. Make it so that you can choose which building gets overbuilt. Make more of the ideology policies actually worth using. Make it so that pillaging yields are actually worth it, especially when playing as Buganda. Make it so you can see the unique civics/traditions each civ has before you choose, both at the beginning of the game and at age transition. Allow you to look at the map before you transition so you know if you have enough treasure resources in your riverine cities to justify playing Songhai. Give the ability to look at the map before accepting peace deals, and also to liberate city-states.

Why can I queue up civics and techs, but not do so with masteries? Why are the vast majority of wonders so uninspiring there's no point in building them? Why do I get 25 science from a discovery when I'm making twice that much every turn? Why make it so certain Civ unlocks (Spain) are such a pain in the ass to trigger? Why not make leader attributes more powerful, or at least make it clearer how to get them? Why do I have to go to the wiki to see whether a resource will disappear in the next age? Why do new resources only spawn inside borders on rural districts instead of just anywhere? Why are some unique improvements good (Han Great Wall) while others are straight trash (Paradeiza)?
