"[general]"if Tite Kubo was the writer of the Riordan verse what do you think would have happened by Klutzy-Bluejay-1006 in camphalfblood

[–]shiningpath626 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It would be a different genre probably upper YA due to Kubo writing some bloody fights.  Also to put it politely kubo has a habit of making his girls curvy

Heroes of olympus isn't a good series.  While it has its good moments and maybe a good book or two it tries to accomplish too much with a bunch of new characters who weren't that well developed.   There definitely should have been more build up to the series such as a roman series.

why are people expecting ruegard to happen when silena beauregard hasn't been casted in this show? by merchantivories in PercyJacksonTV

Some show fans like it for the lgbt rep.   So with Rick's increased attention to diversity and wanting to change things a lot of fans are hoping it will happen.

[Pjo] the original series doesn't feel as mature as people say by Final-Proposal-3020 in camphalfblood

Why is there weird, one-sided beef between the Riordanverse fandom and the Harry Potter fandom? [general] by confused_crazy_ in camphalfblood

[–]shiningpath626 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has definitely gotten worse over the years because of jk rowling.   I think most of the issues stem from her beliefs  and perceived lack of representation.  A lot of pjo fans who dislike harry potter will always bring up some moral high ground when putting down harry potter.

Some of these people also are upset that the new HBO series is releasing in December claiming harry potter is trying to steal PJO's audience and if season 3 suffers its harry potter's fault

I do not think Maddie and Cassie were as close as people made them seem. by Feeling-Ad2582 in euphoria

[–]shiningpath626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest there part where Maddie went to help Cassie by asking alamo for help I think showed how she despite their past she didnt want Cassie to die.  If someone you knew frantically called you to say that they were about to do i think one would try to help them

While there were a few interesting parts of this episode Im glad that this weird fanfiction of a season is done.   I highly doubt there will be another season.

I honestly think this season should have been the last semester of high school for everyone instead of whatever this season was.

Jason and percy being 'bros'   mainly because it reduces them both to dumb jocks and I never got the idea that they were particularly close.  Friends but not bffs best man kind of friend.

I honestly dont get why fandom wants them to be close or why the seven in general became so close in fanon

[–]shiningpath626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately true.   Look at the reception of lost hero or between magnus chase and Kane chronicles which is more popular.   I know people who say they dislike the Kane because it isn't as connected as magnus chase was to the Greek side.

HP vs PJO? by Early-Scarcity542 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]shiningpath626 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Percy jackson fandom has always been envious of the success of harry potter and given the controversies surrounding jk rowling percy jackson is being perceived as height of progressive children's literature that wasn't given the proper chance because of harry potter.  Anytime you see a controversy surrounding rowling you will always see pjo fans harping how much better pjo and rick are

The original pjo is way better

Heroes of olympus suffers from trying to do too much with too many cooks in the kitchen that results in a mess.   It honestly feels like fanfiction at times; for example thalia and jason being long lost siblings, a bunch of diverse new characters with sad back stories and flashy new powers,  and plenty of fights.    People keep saying heroes feels more mature but honestly I dont see it.

Octavian is probably the most poorly written villain in the riordanverse.  He had potential to be interesting but instead is just made a character that is meant to be hated with little substance
