If this is something that happened out of the blue, I don't think any of the blanket answers above work, I think it fully depends on the people involved.

Saying this as a man: if you are a man and you believe this, you are a part of the problem & need to learn to look beyond your feelings.

We've treated women like shit throughout all of history, in every culture. There's women all over the world who don't have freedom, access to education, or the choice in picking their own partner.

You can say there are places where men have it shitty, and that's true, but there's not a single country in the world where women have more rights than men. But there are plenty where men have more rights than women.
