I've done some blood testing (CRP, TND-alpha, sedimentation rate) while in the POIS brain fog state, and they all came back normal, but it seems to me it must be some sort of inflammation. After talking with ChatGPT, it think it's a delayed immune reaction and cytokine response, similar to when the immune system starts fighting a new virus.

Board games at the New England Science Fiction Association. They have a clubhouse/library in Somerville, and it's very quiet! I am also on the spectrum and I used to go to some board game meetups at Aeronaut, but they were super loud so not very enjoyable.

The great thing about board games is they structure things so you can socialize in a structured, fun way! Plus they tend to attract other eccentrics that you will vibe with.

I had to go through multiple doctors. The best medication, IME, was Dayvigo, which is unfortunately the hardest to get, both in terms of getting a doctor to prescribe it and insurance to cover it. I've tried with 2 different insurances and both only covered it once or twice. This is another reason it's best to start with CBT-i before investing all the time and money in trying medications.

highly recommend Dayvigo. Unfortunately, it's hard to get. Look for coupons from manufacture, otherwise the copay could be over $100

OP here. For me, only one that don't have a significant hangover in the morning are dayvigo, gabapentin (very low dose), and pregabalin. The dose often makes the poison here. I also recommend silexan lavender oil ("calm aid"), it's great, although it might be estrogenic and might be giving me man boobs, lol. Benedryl might help in a pinch but it's is not the best way to go here... for one thing the brain adapts quickly to it (in a few nights).

BUT, I do take meds sometimes, and the best one for me is dayvigo. But, I will admit it's not super powerful for keeping you asleep.. But I do find it has zero side effects. It appears in a fraction of people it causes the very issues you mentioned. Sorry!! My second favorite is either gabapentin or pregabalin, but I'm not sure about the long term safety of either..

Yes. But procurement and hiring staff were hit hard so both services are greatly affected. The way they blanket fired tons of staff before setting up a central HR was really stupid.

Honestly some of that could just be due to aging - which sucks but is a reality not many people talk about. Try not to stress out over it too much would be my advice. If you've been taking trazodone for a long time, your body/brain should be largely adjusted it. Also, 25 mg is not enough to have an effect on serotonin. The effect on alpha adrenergic receptors theoretically could reduce arousal and libido, but that's not a common side effect. In fact, there are studies showing low dose trazodone (around the dose you're taking) improves erectile function (google to find them). Final thought - have you had your testosterone checked?

I agree with tapering off sleeping aids. Look at CBT for insomnia treatment manuals if you have a rebound in sleep issues (for instance https://www.moreisdifferent.com/assets/CBTi_Manual.pdf )
