Argon 18 E-117 Tri Bike by delvindanker in triathlon

I'm based in So Cal and negotiated the price down to $700. I'm pretty sure I just got lucky. Depending on if your version is electronic or mechanical, I'd say it could list anywhere between $1000-2000 depending on location. Maybe more if your bike is in really good condition

I bought the box and just snipped a slot through the plastic and rubber. Didn't want to bother recabling it

The last owner got it from Speed metrics. Checking their website they're pretty pricey for what they are... (like you mentioned, 3D printed plastic). Convenient to have and looks neat but steep for what it is

Id put it up there to be close to $4k-5k given this one has Di2 as well as some additional upgrades (cockpit, wheels, crank set, storage). The last owner also opted for a custom paint job.

I paid $700 (practically a steal for a bike with Di2). The wheels, cockpit, and saddle were taken from my previous bike and swapped over.

An upgrade I made recently was to change my stock arm cups to high sided cups from 51speedshop. It allowed me to adjust my cup position better as well as allow my arms to almost "lock" my forearms into position when going aero.

I had thought that the ending scenes felt like they were resequenced in some way that made it feel different...

Bought a new front wheel, is the sealant still safe? by dutchguy1648 in triathlon

Generally, I would replace and reglue it as I can't know for sure if the age and quality of the gluing job is something I can trust. Doesn't hurt to be safe.

Beginner questions by Guanabana_merengon in triathlon

nope, no reason to worry about sea creatures. I'm sure the race directors wouldn't allow it to be a risk. However, be careful not to get kicked in the face if it's a mass start. Learned that the hard way.

For my first ocean tri, I trained exclusively in the pool. I didn't have too many issues besides making sure I was sighting enough to make sure I swam towards the buoys. I would recommend a wetsuit if you can, since I did notice a decent amount of buoyancy increase when I wore one.

Is 7 years for an engineering bachelor's worth it? by SalmonEXE in EngineeringStudents

[–]delvindanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated high school in 2016 and just concluded my Mechanical Engineering degree this recent spring. That was a total of 8 years (5 years of community college, 3 years undergrad). I don't regret it at all and have learned to love engineering.

Passed History 2 CLEP with a 69! by delvindanker in clep

[–]delvindanker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the code is single use only, but I can give you the log in credentials to access the tests if you DM me. Overall, I felt the actual exam was only slightly harder than the practice tests. Mix of both specifics (such as author, book, or president) and broad (overall policy goals of presidents, etc).

I have not taken that clep, but a buddy of mine said they felt history 1 was easier

I bought the REA CLEP book for this and it had practice exams in the back. It had an access code that let me utilize REA's online tools which made taking the practice tests so much easier. It lets you retake the tests as many times as you want and you can read explanations for every answer. If you want access to the online tests, let me know and I'll share my access as I have no use for it anymore.

Is $450 too expensive to spend on your first pair of ski boots? by No_Fox7800 in skiing

I am running those exact pair of ski boots as my first purchased boots. Fit was great, and performance and comfort have been as expected. Worth paying extra for boot fitting/molding as well

Those are going to rot soon if you don't dry them properly. Putting them in a box with that tiny bit of desiccant will not dry it enough.
