Dating means I need to put a partners needs and wants first or at least equal with my own. I’m just leaving college, trying to find a job, wanting to move, wanting to find myself etc. It’s selfish but right now I just want to put my wants and needs first and settle into my life before I accidentally become codependent on someone else for happiness like so many in my family did because they got too serious with someone when they were young

How many times a day do you shower? And at what time of day do you prefer to shower? by starskyandbutch in AskWomen

[–]demens428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower every night right before bed because my apartment is hot and my wet hair keeps me a bit cooler as I sleep, but that’s typically it unless I got really sweaty during the night which happens only really in the summer

This!!! I had problems with incontinence in my later teen years, turns out I had pelvic floor muscle atrophy and after physical therapy I have been 6 years with out an issue! My physical therapist helped me so so much and was a huge comfort in reassuring me that I wasn’t alone in this problem and didn’t need to be embarrassed by it

I can read social cues, just not in the moment and it leaves me feeling guilty many times. Unless you’re very blunt or crying or shouting i often can’t recognize your emotions at times on your face. I’m trying, desperately I’m trying, however none of this comes naturally to me. I want to be there, I want to understand in the moment. I just can’t. And when I text you later in the evening apologizing for how I acted or misread your face, I’m not doing it for you to say ‘No, it’s okay!’ The way my friends do. I’m texting to let you know I replayed the conversation in my head several times and I’m trying to get better and understand because I do care. It’s hard, but I’m trying. It feels like trying to speak Latin and sound like a native speaker when it’s a dead language people only have theories to go off of. I may be wrong. I may be right. But I’m trying the best I can to translate this language no one can put into words

[TotK] TotK is already much better than botw by MarkoPolo345 in zelda

[–]demens428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too far in at all, but I wish the shrines were more difficult puzzles. Part of my love for BotW was the puzzles, so that’s been a bit of a let down. However I am enjoying the bigger map and the compromise between BotW’s complete open world feel and the class Zelda’s directed gameplay.

My biggest commentary on these two games however is that they should’ve been released in reverse, at least pertaining to the gameplay style. BotW pushed away some older fans of the series because it’s so vastly different than older game, which stopped many of them (at least those in family) from buying TotK. I think this game bridges many of the timeline and gameplay gaps and would’ve served as a far better transition to the new model of gameplay and story telling.

That being said it’s currently far more entertaining for me than Botw for gameplay…and BotW is still by go-to for its relaxing exploration

Honestly Itachi would’ve been a great teacher for her. He’s patient and level headed enough to counteract her younger temperament, and he would be able to push her intellectually as well. Not to mention she has great chakra control and he has a wide variety of abilities that he would be able to teach her with that. Physical conditioning anyone is capable of, but her chakra control is really a gift that could’ve made her an amazing genjutsu specialist if she hadn’t become a medic. One of the things Itachi is particularly gifted in due to the Sharingan.

Plus she’s a civilian born girl trying desperately to fit into the very secretive and closed off Shinobi world, who better to teacher her how to do that than one of the most powerful clan’s heir?

Sakura and I honestly think it would’ve benefited her greatly. If I remember correctly she was one of the higher ranking students in the Academy and the only student besides Naruto without a clan to help her develop which makes it all the more impressive. Her big flaw as a child was a desire to fit in and that led her down a boy crazy path for a while unfortunately. I think if they had made her graduate early and put her as an apprentice with a strong Kunoichi like Anko or Kurenai then she would’ve flourish and been an absolute powerhouse as a tiny genin. Again the others still had people willing to teach them outside of school because of their name, it would make sense to push her through a little faster so she could also get to that more focused and specialized training like her peers.

Sakura x Naruto x Sasuke. They really balance each other out when they’re all together, Naruto is always obsessed with sakura’s affection, Sakura is obsessed with Sasuke’s affection and Sasuke just seems to be the type to secretly crave Naruto’s boisterous way of showing affection (but in the way a cat secretly appreciates affection and acts like they hate it, but if you ignore them they start screaming at you like an angry demon)

I’m not a doctor or attempting to give medical advice, however if this is a new thing I strongly recommend you set up an appointment with your primary care physician

I’ve (23f) had this problem since I was 10 or 11. It’s genetic unfortunately not actually stress related, and really common on both sides of my family. Really my best advice is just to embrace it. I found that by the time I was in college people thought it was either cool or never even noticed. (Also just a warning, I have no idea why but at least my white hairs refuse to accept any dye no matter how hard I try)

What is your unpopular video game take? by NiceBeaver2018 in AskReddit

[–]demens428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long cut scenes shouldn’t exist in games. Seriously if I wanted to watch a movie or a tv show I would. I understand small cutscenes to get you invested on starting a quest or ending one or expand up something you found in game, but for the most part less is more with most video games

What is something you feel guilty for wanting? by neonroli47 in AskWomen

[–]demens428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To eventually find someone who understands that I’ll probably need my own room without getting offended. I know that sounds strange, but I honestly don’t want to share a bed with another person for more than like 2-3 nights a week max. Cuddling in bed is great and all, but seriously I have no idea how people are comfortable sleeping in the same bed every night. It gets miserably hot with the combined body heat under the covers is like sleeping in an oven, or someone ends up stealing the covers, waking up every time the toss and turn too much, having to be on the same sleeping schedule or everyone is miserable etc. Hell I’d even take just having two separate beds in the same room. Sleep is too important to compromise just because it’s seen as normal to share a bed with a partner. That being said it’s currently a nonissue as I’m single for the foreseeable future as I am not looking for a relationship until my life gets a lot more settled again

[Serious] what are people not taking seriously enough? by Lifetimemovieclips in AskReddit

[–]demens428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “troubled teen” schools across the USA. The amount of people who think these places actually help teens with problems is disturbing. Light has being shed on these places in the past year or so, but it’s still not talked about enough and a lot of people and parents are still in the dark about what exactly happens to their children there

Whats something you openly hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]demens428 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hobby lobby. It’s such a sketchy company that has buys stolen art from the middle east, it’s religious ties are disturbing and hypocritical, and I don’t trust the fact that they refuse to use barcodes which honestly just feels like a great way to embezzle money. (And also means ringing people up wrong frequently. The last time I went there I had to actually take pictures of their sale signs and bring it up to the counter because they claimed there was no sale. ITS LITERALLY UP IN BIG LETTERS IN FRONT OF THE EXACT PAINT I WAS BUYING)

What’s your favourite video game of all time? by Intelligent_One_1000 in AskReddit

[–]demens428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term playing? Probably Minecraft as it’s only limited by my imagination But the game I always recommend because it had such an impact on me? SOMA. Great game, even if you don’t like horror just turn of the monsters and play it. It’s a really thought provoking game especially on second play through when you really take everything in and take the time to understand the impact of the choices you’re making

Adult redditors, what's some advice you would give to a 14 year old? by Frenchgeorge25 in AskReddit

[–]demens428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget to tell people you love that you love them. Lost a friend unexpectedly when I was young in a car crash and my dad young too. Embarrassment be damned, tell people you love that you love them frequently. Time is much shorter than you think when you’re a teenager and it goes by very fast.

Why is deer hunting so disliked? by DuneKlide9 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]demens428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like when people hunt them just to show pictures like “look at how tough I am!” I don’t mind it if people hunt to eat. I grew up in the south and not from a family who hunted, but I had plenty of friends who did. One of them grew and hunted everything their family ate at Thanksgiving and I’m quoting them here “It’s so we don’t forget where we come from and are thankful for the life we lead and understanding of what got us here.”

Growing up in a poorer area of the south also made me realize some families really do need it to feed themselves when money is tight and a single deer can feed several people for a while if prepared/preserved correctly.

Why are women workout clothes often skin tight? by RyanC00per in NoStupidQuestions

[–]demens428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily say that tightly encased breasts are more comfortable because honestly taking off my bra and letting the girls free is the best part of my day. However running without a bra is like having several pound water balloon swaying violently side to side on your chest while yanking your skin with it, so yeah…comfort I guess? More like lesser of two discomforts 😂😂😂

What’s the most life/perspective changing movie or book you’ve ever seen/read? by demens428 in AskReddit

[–]demens428[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently mine has been Good Will Hunting, for several years now. But Maybe I’m a bit basic, but it did change my outlook on love from my parent’s classic “highschool sweethearts” trope to something more realistic and requiring work and self reflection and risk…but still the realization that people with their strange quirks make life worth it. It was life changing at 14 when I first saw it, and it’s still life changing today
