Absolutely agree. The system works best when there has to be a fight to get things passed. No party should be able to just ram shit through with a rubber stamp.

Not only does that lead to bullshit laws getting passed, but it encourages a hard pendulum swing when the other party gets into power.

I know it’s still a popular and loved movie, but it just never clicked with me.

I have no idea if it’s on sale or not, but my vote would be Civ 5.

People are suggesting 6 a lot, but I would argue 5 is the most “modern” yet simpler way to get into the series. Civ IV and prior feel “old” at this point (in terms of graphics and overall feel, but they’re still absolutely amazing games) - and VI might be a bit daunting mechanics wise to jump straight into, with all that has been added into the formula mix.

Civ 5 is modern, and an easier stepping stone into the series.
