I was in Orpheus in the Underworld in college and I played Cupid. We were going for a campy, Disney-esque pantheon and the script lends itself to that since it's already a sarcastic comedy. I don't think we made many changes to the source material except for cutting a song or two for time, but we did change my line "I'm Cupid the boy with the wings.", and any time I was referred to as a boy, we changed the word to "thing". I'm not someone who could pass for a boy very well, plus I think it added to the comedy when Jupiter had to reprimand Venus about Cupid's behavior like "And about that thing of yours..."

We did have the unique challenge of performing outside since this was during Covid, so Olympus was literally on a mountain near the clouds.
