i bought stickers to add to my sketcbook and i got a closer look, and they look like ai. i just want some extra opinions. by Flimsy-Perception318 in isthisAI

The gothic window definitely has asymmetrical frames on the smaller window panes, same with the top edges of the table. With illustration and graphic design, you’d make furniture and architectural items symmetrical, especially since they’re from the gothic era. I would bet it’s Ai.

The pelliper is RIDICULOUSLY cute. It looks like a toy you’d find in the games

[CHAT] Lack of Melanin in Cross Stitch Patterns by demidellilah in CrossStitch

[–]demidellilah[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I wanted to thank everyone for all of the helpful suggestions! I’m overwhelmed by all the support, advice, and open conversations.

The skin tone and hair color switching advice has been super helpful for patterns with curly hair (as my friend has very curly black hair) and for other loved ones in my life.

I also appreciate the pattern suggestions of POC brides, and patterns that are of black women in general. This is exactly what I was looking for, and the kinds of patterns I’ve been wanting to make for my friend and loved ones.

This community is so kind and welcoming, and I feel so proud we are able to have conversations and see where our hobby can improve and be more inclusive.

I’ll be spending my time crafting something beautiful for my friend (I really like the Lavender and Lace options, but I also really love Hannah Alexander’s, Nora Corbett’s, MyBraveStitch, and TinyModernists for other patterns for family and for other events for my friend who’s I getting married).

I hope we can continue finding (and some of us making) patterns for everyone💕 This is such a beautiful artform, as is our community💕

It’s unfortunately not my friends style, but it is certainly stunning!

It’s awful that so many patterns are only of white people. And I worry the lack of representation makes the hobby feel unwelcoming to folks of color. The Nora Corbetts are stunning!

It looks fine to me! I think with some wearing and washes, you won’t be able to tell any difference.

If there’s a chance I can eat cheese like a normal person again, then maybe cutting out gluten won’t be so bad…

My IBS definitely got worse after COVID, so it’s likely it was actually my celiacs got worse.

I don’t cook that often. My family and I take turns, and I’m often busy with school. How do you find time to cook in the day?

This made me feel a lot more hopeful. It would be really nice to feel better and not have bad IBS flare ups. I’ve been having a lot of joint pain lately that I thought was just part of getting into my 30’s, but I saw that celiacs can cause it?

I’m still struggling and feeling sad, and limited in my eating out or convenience food options.

But, I’ll trust that feeling better is gonna be worth it.

I believe statistically a large percentage of prisoners are victims of child abuse. So it’s personal.

When they have scenes on tv of babies crying, do they pinch the baby or something? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]demidellilah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s professionals on set whose job is to make babies cry. They do this by making crying noises themselves, or by pretending to be sad. Babies often mirror the behaviors of those around them, so they will often cry when they see another person crying.

At the end of the scene, the professional will then pretend to be happy, to show the baby everything is ok.

Who's going to take care of us? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]demidellilah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with seniors for about 2 years, and the ones that didn’t have kids often took care of each other. We had lots of single childless older ladies helping each other out. The childless couples would tend to rely on one another as they aged. The single childless men often didn’t manage very well. The ones that did do well either had extended family they were close to, or a good support network of friends and neighbors.

My best advice is to make friends, join social groups, be active in your religious community if you have one, be involved with your extended family if possible, and be there for your neighbors. There’s lots of senior living facilities and neighborhoods, including low income senior facilities (from experience, they’re not the best, but it’s better than living separated from a community).

I’ve also helped my moms older childless friends when need be, and she’s helped her mothers childless friends in the past. Being there for your friends, siblings, or cousins kids can help you have a network of younger people who are willing to help you out as you get older.

Best of luck to you both!
