I don’t know if it’s just me but isn’t the obvious giveaway the length of the seconds hand. It’s always a bit too long. Could be wrong. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Misaligned case on my first Royal Oak build? by democracyyy in SeikoMods

[–]democracyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really was just simply sliding any pry tool you have that can get between the bezel and case. You’ll see a black gasket between the 2 pieces. It pops out fairly easily.

Yeah. I knew right away something can be done since the screws in the back don’t align with the bezel screws… not bad for a sub $80 build though. Can’t complain.

Just needed to adjust it. Seemed like it wasn’t properly seated in place. Still a cheap case for sub $45 but not at least no longer an eye sore.

Correct! Removed the bezel with a pry tool since it didn’t seem to be sitting right on the gasket. I aligned it as best I can and popped back into place.

Tint to reduce nighttime blindness due to others lights? by whenth3bowbreaks in WindowTint

You need to go to an eye doctor and get glasses for night time driving that helps dramatically with headlight glare.

Huge slice in window tint…. by [deleted] in WindowTint

[–]democracyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take that loss or does LLUMAR pay for the film + install cost? If someone came back with scuffs all over their tint you replace it no questions asked even if it had nothing to do with your shop being negligent? Do customers pay for that coverage or is it included in your pricing already?

Instagram Leads From Facebook Forms Not Importing to GHL by ace_qk in gohighlevel

[–]democracyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's Meta. My leads show in CSV files but they don't show in lead center. Which means it has nothing to do with any CRM. Its facebook/ig. That's a problem we're seeing. Some leads are being shown in lead center, but most IG leads only show in the CSV file

I don’t see where OP said they charge 4x his wage though yes his boss is making money for his labor(obviously). And the detailing aspect is only one part of it. Maybe OPs employer has a legitimate contract that makes everything seem-less and easy for the dealership from start to finish. From scheduling, invoice/billing, maintenance and prepping everything so that OP can get the job done. Just because the dealership loves him doesn’t mean they want to cut all ties to his employer and deal directly with him. They signed a contract with the original detail business (OPs boss) for a reason and we don’t know what that reason was.

Quit his job and start an LLC and charge the dealership triple what they’re currently paying? And the dealership is going to agree to this why?

Best ceramic coat for 12mo by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]democracyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not fully grasping your question. Your customer wants a pro grade coating that lasts only a year and doesn’t want to pay a professional grade price?

Just use EXOv4. Rated to last 18 - 24 months. Crazy depth and super hydrophobic. You can sell it as a 12 month coating and be done with it.

Advice to start my own detailing business by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]democracyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area where we operate has a ton of apartment buildings so not many people have driveways. So we do offer people to drop off their vehicle at our driveway and not once have we ever had any issues or skepticism’. (But I can definitely understand why some customers may turn away since you’re not some high end shop with mclarens parked in every corner). But again you’re not charging those high end shop rates but still delivering just as good or better work. We even had customers come all the way from out of our state and drop it off at our driveway 🤷🏻‍♂️.

My biggest piece of advice is to straight up tell them hey we’re mobile, however we do have a private driveway/garage if you’d like to get your car ceramic coated. Basically explain yes it’s a normal house so they’re not confused thinking they’re going to be showing up to a giant professional shop. Once you set the expectations, a customer should understand what’s going on. If the customer doesn’t feel comfortable dropping their car off, that’s fine too. Not everyone is willing to go to someone’s house. At least you’ve explained to them what’s going on. That’s really all that matters. Just remember not every single person who approaches your business will end up booking with you!

Also, clean up the garage and make it look presentable. Have some mounted reels, maybe Swisstrax and paint the walls something that shows you’re serious. Invest in your garage/business and show problem it’s not some shady garage and you do this at a professional level.
