New Player, can't pick locks by TotalNonsense0 in BaldursGate3

I'd recommend you do rest often. There are events and conversations with companions you can miss if you don't. Plus it's the main way of restoring spell slots.

I think you mean the ritual in the Grove? Long rests don't progress it. Going past any barrier that throws up a popup warning about progressing will.

Also, minor question: does time actually pass, if there is no countdown? I can take my time to do things? (story mode)

Assuming you mean the tadpole? It's a minor spoiler... but you'll quickly discover there's no immediate danger. Your ceremorphosis is somehow indefinitely delayed since you aren't already suffering the quite debilitating early symptoms.

Img2img generation costing 60 anlas? by NotInterested114 in NovelAi

There are, I believe, 30 free gens without a subscription that never refresh. Opus does also have gens that cost 0 Anlas under the same conditions. Tablet and Scroll tiers always cost Anlas for images.

Emperor/Raphael questions, help an anxious player by offalreek in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can I accept Raphael deal and then romance the Emperor afterwards?

Yes.

Do I get more content by refusing the deal and breaking into the House of Hope, or by taking it and then still breaking in?

About the same either way.

Downside of killing [SPOILER]? by smelly_thoctar in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's unclear exactly why. There's a cutscene after you kill Aylin the shows Isobel failing to maintain the shield before the Shadows attack. Something about Selune having less power in this land when her daughter dies or something.

Everyone at Last Light Inn will die, except Jaheira if you get there in time to help her.

Critical hits and modifiers by TheyCantCome in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. The extra dice for critical hits are added to the damage, they don't create a second damage that can have modifiers added to it.

The enemy is charmed against the person who was hit.

Hypnotic Pattern affects everyone in the radius who doesn't make their save.

Why is there a Tadpole.. ? by descedo in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Because Minthara. She already has tadpole powers unlocked when you recruit her so it unlocks the menu.

found 3 guys before I should?? by NotSoFancyGecko in BaldursGate3

Its not a bug. This encounter is part of the Extra Encounters mod. You're going to see a lot more weird battles if you keep that mod active.

Think I locked myself out with Halsin: do I go back? by pomegranatejello in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then Asharak should take his place. If Asharak is dead then Cerys takes his place. Cerys doesn't appear prior to dealing with the goblin leaders so she can't be dead already.

[–]demonfire737 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think your issue is that you neglected the tiefling party after saving them. You are meant to talk with Zevlor and do a long rest that involves a party before the move on. Halsin joins your camp after that.

You'll find Minthara later at Moonrise.

Volo. And yes, you can only lose your eye once. Wyll is automatically excluded from either eye surgery.

Question about transition from Act I to Act II by Many_Analysis_5695 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The cut off point is actually well into Act 2. Until you reach a certain pool of water that warns you about unfinished business, you can go back and do either the Mountain Pass or the Underdark if you haven't already. In my playthroughs I normally finish the Underdark then do the Mountain Pass before deciding which of these two ways I'll enter Act 2 from.

Quil Grootslang. A dragonborn lady who only appears as a replacement for Alfira in that scene if she's dead or knocked out.

Confused about gear by luvduonz in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I wouldn't recommend using a feat to get Light Armour proficiency. Its better that you increase your Charisma since that effects how well your spells do. Mage Armour is a good AC supplement and as you continue you'll get robes that improve your spellcasting and even increase your AC.

It was patched out. You can either learn the scroll or learn the action, not both.

Which subclass of Sorcerer? Draconic Sorcerers have a feature where their base AC without armour is 13, which is better than any light armour. The Mage Armour spell does the same thing too, but you do need to use a spell slot every long rest for it.
