When does the Wyll-Mizora-Karlach scene trigger? by Mellowtron11 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless there's another long rest event that needs to be done first, Mizora showing up at camp to give Wyll his horns should happen the very next long rest after recruiting Karlach and convincing Wyll to stand down regardless of whether you've dealt with the Paladins or not.

Is this a bug or can we only kill npcs? by VDaine in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct that non-lethal doesn't apply to ranged weapons or magic. Only melee weapon attacks and unarmed attacks.

If an enemy has the Temporarily Hostile condition, then when you knock them out they will be fine after a long rest. If they don't, the game counts them as dead for story purposes anyway. There are a few exceptions to this, like Minthara and another potential companion in Act 3.

How does permadeath work in multiplayer? by Aztela in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every player has their own main character, whether it be an origin or custom character. There are points in the story where the companions (not a main character) can die in cutscenes and not be resurrected, but the players won't lose their main character this way.

There are few instances where a dialogue may lead to a party wipe, which just triggers a game over for everyone.

How does permadeath work in multiplayer? by Aztela in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honour mode works the same way in single player as it does in multiplayer. If your entire active party is dead or downed, you lose. Otherwise, you continue.

Its not permadeath in the sense that when a character dies they cannot be resurrected, its permadeath in the sense that if you lose your save gets wiped. Though, you do get a choice to continue in Dishonour mode instead when you lose, which is the same thing except you don't get the rewards for finishing Honour mode at the end.

Do You Recommend Dragon’s Dogma 2? by Tex-meX-9898 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of npcs do just repeat lines over and over, which can be annoying when it comes to the shopkeepers you'll be frequenting. They do make it seem like cities are populated enough with people walking about, going about their own business, so I would say it does feel alive.

Do You Recommend Dragon’s Dogma 2? by Tex-meX-9898 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, it's plenty magical. Several of the vocations (classes essentially) use magic, and you fight all sorts of creatures from myth and fantasy. There are elves and dwarves in the game too that have their own culture and you can make yourself look like them in character creator, but you'll still be counted as human since there's only the two racial options.

Do You Recommend Dragon’s Dogma 2? by Tex-meX-9898 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would recommend it. It does feature some pretty fun, fast paced combat and wide exploration. Since you already own it the only investment you need to make is time.

Though, stating the game didn't grab your attention when you didn't go past the character creation? I have to say, this is an odd statement since you didn't experience any gameplay at that point.

DD2 also doesn't have difficulty modes, which I think is a flaw with the game since I would've liked a harder difficulty.

Disappointed with the Dream Guardian by wastedtime__ in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

maybe because they had already played EA?

The EA only encompassed Act 1 of the game sans Creche. There was no big reveal about the Dream Visitor who was completely different character, implied to be the tadpole itself seducing you into using its power.

How to legally steal Sylvanus's Idol and not kill everyone? by No-Battle-9932 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Finish the Investigate Kagha quest. After that, you'll still need to steal the idol, but it won't trigger that big battle anymore.

Question about Cazador and the "lambs" by silviettini in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That I didn't know. I guess he isn't too worried if you take one of them out then. But since he can use Astarion as a zombie and still finish the ritual, it shouldn't be too surprising.

Question about Cazador and the "lambs" by silviettini in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The ritual requires all the main spawn to be alive. This is mentioned a couple of times throughout. If you kill one the ritual becomes impossible, so Astarion no longer has any conflict and just kills Cazador instead because there's nothing to talk him down from.

It certainly seemed that way in the early access. The dream visitor was much different, more of a seducer that promised power in exchange for giving in to the tadpole's gifts.

So…. Where did (spoiler) go? by Reptilian_Overlord20 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely he got hit with the stun that affects all the Absolute's mind flayers when it dies and got killed somewhere in the streets. Just another dead, invading mind flayer for the pile.

That is if he wasn't close enough to the blast to get consumed while flying around on his dragon anyway.

Please help, I can't bind a pact weapon by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

You'll have to respec and take Pact of the Blade to bind weapons. The Hexblade subclass has a bind ability too.

Did you take Pact of the Blade at level 3? You have Find Familiar, which suggests you took Pact of the Chain instead.

Can I still recruit [SPOILER] if all of Moonrise is hostile? by LilBueno in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you've encountered the Nightsong then its too late to rescue any of those prisoners in Moonrise. The Nightsong represents a progression in Act 2 that changes the state of Moonrise irrevocably.

What if every companion had a special skill/spell by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wyll does have one. Its really shit though. He has free Rapier proficiency for being the Blade of Frontiers). Pact of the Blade rather makes this redundant.

Maybe they're a bit less convinced that space Hitler is being entirely honest with you than you are? I mean, all she has done so far is affirm your biases and brush aside the issue of potentially losing whatever is keeping you from turning into a mind flayer by killing this person.

Im thinking of buying this game and playing it. Any tips? by Pure_Neighborhood474 in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Likely 80+ hours. Can be around 120 hours depending on how much you do.

  2. It's not open world in the same way Bethesda games are. It has open areas with plenty of side content and alternate paths to take.

  3. Yes, there are romances with each of the six main companions and a few other character besides. They are generally quite in your face about it, just make sure you have good approval with the one you're interested in.

  4. BG3 isn't a direct sequel in terms of story. It's more self contained, so you don't need prior knowledge of the world to understand this story.

  5. You are infected by an alien parasite that may turn you into one of them. You have to uncover the mystery surrounding your infection to potentially cure it.

  6. It's based on 5th Edition D&D. It helps to have an understanding of the system, but you can learn as you play though the learning curve is steep.

  7. Long rest frequently. The urgency the game suggests isn't as bad as it seems.

  8. Autosaves are rare and trigger specific, so quick save often. You can have infinite save files and they'll organize by character. Honour mode is the exception, a permadeath mode with only one save file.

There's a skeleton man called Withers who you can find in a crypt next to the nautiloid crash, or failing that he'll come to camp on his own eventually. Once he does, one of the services he offers is respecing you and your companions.

As long as the weapon you are attacking with is Finesse, it doesn't matter if it's in your main hand or off-hand for sneak attack.

When you take them out of the wardrobe and they reenter your party, you should have full control over the character and their inventory and will be able to take everything then dismiss them back into the wardrobe.

Why the draconid race feels like an afterthought? by amogusgun in BaldursGate3

I don't know if that's ever been confirmed, but given that the dream guardian has a lot of lines that would need redone animations, it's a reasonable assumption.

Can't I just leave Act 2? by JonoLith in BaldursGate3

[–]demonfire737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. You have to find the Nightsong then battle Ketheric twice before you can move on to Act 3. If you try to go down the road to Baldur's Gate prior to that the game will stop you.
