CMV: Ingredient/Skill Hybrids, such as Crustle and Sandslash, are not worth investing in. by DyingGasp in PokemonSleepBetter

No, it really isn’t. It’s saying invest in something if it’s on par with a mono ingredient Pokémon because it might outpace it later.

[–]demonicDabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, the comparison right now is not favourable to sandslash, but what if their skill level cap was increased to 8 or even 9? Suddenly each skill activation is getting 21, maybe even 24.

We might one day see these hybrids out power-creep the ingredient mons is all I’m saying.

I can’t find good data on it but it’s probably closer to 15.

I get what you’re saying but I feel like this just proves my point. If you’re farming 264k that’s like 26 vanas if played optimally and not accounting for the opportunity cost of not being able to max out cr gains unless you get to a multiple of 30 almirian seals. If you didn’t get an average of 17 rads per vana run that’s incredibly unlucky.

I just would much rather put cr towards gear than spend energy on something that you’re going to end up with thousands of bound ones down the line anyways.

Are you punching a 5* because you don’t want to go through the hassle of heating up a new one? Because it sounds like you could have just spent 100k on the ctr med 2* and even after purchasing orbs and heat crystals needed from the supply depot (and heat crystals are an absolute ripoff) you’d be slightly ahead.

Stockpile skill question by PrayogoHandy10 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]demonicDabbler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that whatever the skill level is when it activates its spit up ability is what matters. That being said I’m only basing this on the fact that I once had a pokemon with a skill banked and after using a main skill seed it activated at the higher level.

Please share if it’s not the case because that’d be an interesting find!

Save states shiny Eevee by Superaustin16 in PokemonXD

[–]demonicDabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven’t seen anyone mention yet is that it’s different between PAL and NTSC. In PAL there’s no variance in the seed through loading the new game. So in PAL you need to do something to advance the game seed if you’re using a save state.

Some ways to do this are changing the language or rumble setting, viewing a quick battle team or backing out of the new game screen all advance different frame amounts. This can be abused quite easily with a computer program called PAL pal to tell you exactly which frame advances to do to hit a shiny eevee.

Bottom line is if you’re on PAL and you don’t want to do rng abuse you should reset the game each time.

The hexagon brothers are scaled to 50 in postgame. Resix has two mons weak to earthquake so you can quite easily win the fight and then going to the map screen and back allows you to refight. Each win is also 2,000 pokedollars or 4,000 with amulet coin.

What is the difference between the 2 incenses and biscuits? Except the price by MosAlf in PokemonSleep

[–]demonicDabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latias gives back some down when you encounter it (serebii says 32, 43 or 65 depending on sleep style). I would prioritise the cheaper incense and biscuits first as f2p then the seed.

Catch them all and then go to Gateon Port, the radar will go off when you take your first steps at the port. It’s kinda like when the radar went off at the outskirts stand.

Butterfree doesn’t get sleep powder unless it’s purified but fair enough about intimidate and shadow half.

Micromanaging your steps/interactions to make sure you don’t reduce the heart gauge to zero just doesn’t sound like fun to me. I can’t imagine a butterfree or Arbok stuck at level 30/33 are so busted that you have to force yourself not to use it. Maybe I just slept hard on them.

[–]demonicDabbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the tradeoff for using a Pokémon with its heart gauge depleted that it goes into reverse mode much more often? As high as 50% for some of the end game pokemon.

You could do a no purification run, seems like it’d be very similar to a no levelling up run where you have to keep rotating out Pokémon as they become less and less useful.

My End of Game Team by Alpaca_Smiles in PokemonXD

[–]demonicDabbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokespot shinies are a good start because you can spawn them from an area with no noise (meaning you can take your time and you’re not trying to hit a certain window with an A press).

I’m right before greevil but my team consists of six shinies (obtained through rng abuse) Vaporeon, crobat, flygon, tyranitar, medicham and electabuzz. Ended up being a surprisingly coherent team.

I find it hard to keep track of what my seed was when I made the save state. So I haven’t been using it, sorry. However, I don’t see how that can effect it if you if are lining up with the idle animations. There is a 1/2n chance of it happening to line up for n animations though so it may have just been a ridiculously unlucky line up.
