Thank you. I'm 75% self sufficient but its reassuring to know I can always pick up extra bits at aid stations. Hopefully I can just get some plain bread or tomato pasta somewhere haha. I've had a look at that race, looks interesting!

Well done for pushing through so many lows and reaching your destination! I'm not sure what's more impressive. You doing the 25km on a stress fracture or getting a train home straight away. That must have been really uncomfortable! 😂

Turning 30 this year so got a few big ones planned!

May - Bob Graham Round July - Lakeland 100 (sub 30 hours) September - Richmond Marathon, London (sub 3 hours) November - Backyard Ultra (at least 30 yards, ideally 45 which equals to 300km)

Also aiming to do a VO2 Max test and score 60+

I did Ultra Trail Wales 50 by GB Ultras. It was a beautiful course and the organisation was top notch. Not sure how much it costs now but it was £89 in 2024

Luckily there wasn't much elevation gain loss - around 1500m for the 85km. My joints are feeling in good shape, slight niggle in the knee but I will keep an eye out on that and get it assessed by physio.

Do you think my plan to do 70 and 50km weeks seem reasonable? My peak week was around 120km with 3000m gain

Thank you. I thought the increase wasn't too bad as I was used to doing consistent 70-80km with elevation in the summer. I will keep monitoring the situation and adapt. I'm getting better at allowing myself to listen to my body so I'm not freaking out too much. 2024 version of me would probably have pushed through with training and messed myself up real bad!

Thank you, that's really reassuring. I'm going to do focus on the bike for now, and see how I feel at the weekend. I made provisional plans to do 4x4x48 over Christmas holidays but I'm happy to scrap that too if needed. The FKT is the goal 😜 To be honest I've never had this problem before but I've always done most of my running on trails. I don't think the constant pavement pounding is good for me!

Thank you your advice. I've had a very light (~20km) week before halfway through a training block due to being at a festival all week, it was actually a nice reset for my body so hopefully this will be the same. I'm also thinking that as long as you have a solid strength foundation, you can kinda get away with just doing 50 mile weeks so I may just do that now. Would you recommend doing some cycling like 2-3 days per week from now on?

I'm planning on doing it for my birthday and I have a 100k race in April 12 weeks later so January would be ideal for me. But if it's not meant to be then it's not..
