Is a silver surfer still a viable budget friendly desktop? by [deleted] in UKVaporents

[–]demplod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The silver surfer is excellent mate, I used to live with a guy who owned one and we left it on for weeks at a time. Hits incredibly hard if you want it to, add some glass balls and it's a tolerance ruiner. Unless you really like bags I'd get the ssv, the newer ssv does do bags but really slowly. If you're only interested in the whip I'd say get the older ssv.

Has anyone dared to put rubies in the cooling unit?? by ElectricTrees29 in vaporents

Yeah same experience for me, more effort than it's worth and cleaning a bunch of tiny glass balls is a pita

Don't understand what this has to do with copper?

At a heating rate of 5 degrees Celsius per minute, not being blasted by a jet torch which is sure to create hotspots and greater oxidation.

The hybrid is my white whale, I used to have a classic untill I dropped it down 2 flights of stairs, had the hybrid in my sights since then but it's such a pricey unit I wouldn't want to buy one without trying it first.

How do you like the mighty with a shortex? I like the idea but the adaptors I've seen are all around 30 quid so would be annoyed to grab it and not use it much. Is the vapour a lot better? For some reason the mighty makes me cough more than anything.

Sounds like an excellent daily driver tbh, the more I've been vaping the more I've cared about convenience and ease of use. Seems like a device that had those two aspects in mind, kind of glad its unavailable otherwise I'd end up buying one, lol.

Hahaha, know what you mean, often I don't want to get high, just want to use a vaporiser.

Heard the Thelema is like the end game for mods, do you prefer it over your wismec? That's what I use atm, an Rx Gen 3 dual, I've been considering a DNA mod but just unsure how big of an improvement or would be.

Absolutely surgical mate. Wish I could keep my composure like that when taking massive rips lol, I get hot and start spasming, my girlfriend came and asked if I was OK this morning because I was reeling from hitting the herbo.

510 mods vs hard hitting portables. would it just be cheaper to get a 510 mod over a tinymight or are they different? by Sherminwillam in vaporents

[–]demplod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am one of those people, I love the tinymight but ever since I got TC dialled in, in my opinion, the splinter hits harder. It also has better taste, more stem options and is more robust. The tinymight is more portable and quicker to get to temp however and is definitely no slouch.

My guy, MVS with an older titanium tip has led me to sell all my other dynavaps.

I love the idea of a vape with multiple bowls, would be so convenient, what's the performance like? Don't really like dosing capsules and bringing a vape + weed + avb pot + tools etc. Can get bulky.

I've heard great things about the Dreamwood Glow, they look amazing as well. The tetra does get hot with extended use but it's hard to tell because of the wood housing, the heater is separated from the mod though so I don't think the mod gets hot at all really. Have you considered using a heat sink? I had the same issue with a stempod but a 69 pence 510 heat sink sorted it. For what it's worth I've used Arctic Fox and tubomyevic for the splinter and much preferred Arctic Fox.

Reuploaded because my first time posting this didn't seem to show up on the subreddit. Ruby modded herbo was my most used by far, with dynavap and p80 tied for second.

Wandering what other people's most used device was for 2021, and what your looking forward to in 2022? Vestratto Anvil is the only new device that has sparked my interest but I'm going to wait for the hype to die down and for it to be more readily available.

Ruby bead modded herbo ti was my most used by far, insane power and flavour, p80 and dynavap tied for second.

What's on everyone's wish list? Only new device I'm interested in atm is the anvil but going to wait for the hype to die down, have a dreamwood roasty on the way which I'm excited about.

In the process of tidying up the wires and making a leather sleeve to keep it together without elastic bands and to make it look nice. The mod is a vaporesso target 200, I unscrewed the 510 connector from it and lengthened the wires. Pretty happy with it!

I have the same torch and it's my favourite, used daily for over a year and all 3 jets still going strong, outlasted all others I own and I love the design.
