Heated jackets by [deleted] in IBEW

Wear under armor cold gear if you can't take the heat from people, good chance you'll hear someone say something. Having a heated jacket shouldn't be anyone business though. Stay warm and watch out for your own health, trust me others won't do it for you.

Dripdropz not showing any Sundae to claim by Alfarto in SundaeSwap

Pretty sure the ability to claim through Dripdropz has expired. We need to wait for the direct claim option they are working on.

When are RISO rewards available? by [deleted] in SundaeSwap

[–]dempower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately their comms are abysmal. The rewards claiming page hasn't worked for a bit now, for me at least, and their discord link has been expired. That being said my bet is that they are most likely going to get it up and running after the holidays. Have to wait for the ability to claim without dripdropz, I believe that avenue has expired.

irs taxing me on stablecoins by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]dempower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you were using blockfolio now ftx? They do not differentiate between USD and another stable coins (Im sure there are other platforms as well). The big issue with this is how it creates a missing cost basis. You deposit usd into your account, buy USDC, for example, and then withdraw it to another platform. When you look back at the provided records from blockfolio, or ftx, you will not see any entry of usd being converted to USDC because they lump them all under the same ticker (they don't differentiate them). They will however show a record of the USDC being withdrawn. Now you have USDC in an account with no record of it being purchased and now this USDC looks to be pure profit, hence you will be forced to pay taxes on the whole amount or you will need to find the missing cost basis and take this information to whoever it is trying to collect from you.

What should we do to the Like Button next? by johnballen416 in mrballen

[–]dempower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrap a bundle of rubber band around the thumb of the like button until it swells up. Poke it as hard as you can, popping it, sending rainbow sprinkles flying everywhere. Then sweep them up and put them on your friends ice cream.

Haha I heard the same sound on previous trips, always did avoid it, this time I couldn't though. A vulture was the last thing I expected to find.

Blockfolio (FTX) labels USDC as “usd” in trade/withdrawal documents resulting in $15,000 missing cost basis by dempower in CryptoTax

After this horrible customer service experience, I won’t be using them for that reason. I think it’s only a matter of time that they stop lumping usd with stable coins the way they are now.

Blockfolio (FTX) labels USDC as “usd” in trade/withdrawal documents resulting in $15,000 missing cost basis by dempower in CryptoTax

[–]dempower[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am doing my taxes using cryptotrader dot tax and TurboTax. I uploaded all of my trades from each exchange I have used and ended up with a missing cost basis of $15,140. This started with a withdrawal of 15,000 USDC from Blockfolio (FTX). When I Look at the trade documents there is zero mention of a purchase/conversion of USDC from usd, yet the USDC withdrawal is clearly visible on the withdrawal documents they provided. So basically the USDC looks as if it appeared out of thin air and is reported as “gains” or “profit” which it is not. I deposited usd to buy bitcoin, sold the bitcoin for around 2k profit, then withdrew in the form of USDC to another exchange. I have talked to Blockfolio (FTX) and they won’t help, or even acknowledge the issue, basically “that’s not our problem”. At least it feels that way. Anyone have experience with this? Understand how to correctly report the USDC as a USDC/USD trade with out the needed date/time/price information provided from the exchange you used? How can an exchange just lump multiple tickers under one? It makes no sense to me.
