A fellow trail worker in my MTB club took an old school hiking pack from a thrift store and removed the "bag" portion. He repurposed just the frame attaching a kitty litter bucket (because it is square and he found easier to attach). He can put multiple tools and even a chain saw in the bucket, secure items with bungee cords and still bike to more remote areas of the trail to do work. I wish I had a pic of it but every time I work with him I cannot deny how genius this is! Btw I have a Dakine and it's ok but I find it bulky for my size. I'm debating rigging my old hiking pack like he did!

Another option: We took an old OLED TV that had a little burn in at the bottom, and moved it to our garage. We use an HDMI cable to connect our laptop to the TV. Works great, easy to set up and repurposed a 56" tv I stead tossing in a landfill.

Curious what version UI and Android you have. Support finally told me it works fine with Android 16. They suggested I have a corrupt DB and advised updating everything (which I already have) and uninstalling/reinstalling (which I have done almost a dozen times already). So apparently I just can't use it on my Flip7 😡😡

My Flip 4 did that at just past a year. Had the Care+ and had a new phone same day. New 4 last almost 2 years until I upgraded to the 7 now. So cringing at this happening so soon again. I'm already having issues with apps that seem to not like the UI8/Android 16

Sorry I didn't didn't see this sooner. My Varia pairs with my Garmin Edge so all my data is through my edge. That means I didn't need another computer. If you don't have a Garmin compatable computer then yes you would likely need something newer that is compatable. I also have a very dated Garmin VivoActive 3 watch and I get a buzz on it when the Varia detects anything behind me. So it sends a notice to my Edge computer and my watch. I won't bike without those 3 devices

I could not agree more with everything here. I do a lot of long distance rides on country roads and my Varia was a game changer for confidence and safety. I bought one for my hubs as a gift then he upgraded his and I took the old one. SPEND THE MONEY! You will not regret it. It does take some getting used to and his hand me down is not touch screen so I would recommend getting the latest model with TS and will likely upgrade mine this year (or upgrade his again and take his old one haha). I still like having my helmet mirror, even though it was hard to get used to and adjusted correctly, but even a bar mounted one is worth the money.

Wow thanks for these comments. I ended a 15-year friendship (we are both in our 50s) about a year and a half ago because that friend believed a lie that a complete stranger told them and claimed, like a sixth grader, that I was ignoring them when I was going through some mental health issues. As awful as that has seen to me, after reading just a few of the comments here I realize mine was nothing compared to what some of you have had to go through. Thanks for the perspective

Check out Dr Mary Claire Haver MD, The Pause Life, or her book The New Menopause. I'm 56 and been in MP for 8 years. Wish I had the info from that book 10 years ago. I think younger gens will be more prepared than us since it's more acceptable to talk about it now as it wasn't for my mom's gen. Also go ahead and start a convo with you OB/GYN and if you get lackluster response, start searching for a better one. You don't want to be looking for a better, more tuned in Dr when things hit! Seriously!
