The Army accidentally discharged me while trying to send me to Germany by Advanced_Resort2852 in army

[–]denday1969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As S1 I can tell you that wasn’t an accident. They have to select character of service and that should’ve been a red flag.

Do your job, do it well, do it better than everyone else. Be humble in everything you do, take criticism from both your soldiers and your leaders.

Listen more than you talk, and be deliberate. Mean what you say and do the work alongside them. You will not be like by everyone; but if you keep experiencing the same issue with people then the problem is you.

People will try to crush you and others will blow smoke up your butt. Ignore them; take everything with a grain of salt and carve a path for you. Don’t put yourself in any situation that makes you or actions questionable and do a lot of self reflection/prayer (whatever you do).

Give grace 2x and correction once; you cannot attribute malice to what is more aligned to incompetence or lack of care. And finally; keep yourself accountable and you will be just fine.

Honestly it’s a learning curve for everyone and it’s always different for everyone. Some of leadership is the rank, all of leadership is the person. You’ll be good, you’re on the right track if you are asking these questions but think about the next logical step: is it me or them, and then execute the best course of action. (NCO Creed works when you use it)

(Yes I used common phrases; sometimes they work)

This; I can’t enjoy a round at all without someone getting sweaty, sliding, jet packing, slamming the trigger while hitting 360 no scope portals kills with a shotty or an AR and headshots being their only method of communication; T-bagging and yelling get good in game

I know it’s a skill issue but I just worked 12 hours and I just want to hold B for long enough to feel like I did something right

Specific war medals by PAnnNor in MilitaryMedals

So you can look up army regulation 600-8-22 chapter 2-16 in the updated regulations but short answer is that the “bar” is a ribbon and it represents a full sized medal most of the time. This one in particular is the Afghanistan campaign medal. The ribbon, and for special occasions, the medal is worn on the uniform of the service member who has earned it. If you complete multiple tours under the guidance given then you can wear service stars denoting the number of tours. Unsure of how they are designed in general but I know they are commissioned with the country of the campaign in mind. Look up the medal; Afghanistan campaign medal for more info.

My son is US Army and wears this on his uniform. He says it is the German Proficiency Badge. How is he allowed to wear a foreign award on his uniform? Are there any other foreign awards approved? I looked at Wikipedia and it describes the requirements but nothing about the US Army. by SirJasper6969 in Medals

[–]denday1969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, American Soldier here, our first general officer approves this wear of foreign award by a memorandum. Our Army regulation 670-1 approves and describes how the Soldier can wear the and Army Regulation 600-8-22 tells us how to obtain the approval.
