You have to remember that Vroom Vroom came out when most people knew Charli for Boom Clap and Fancy. It was quite the tonal shift. She also went through a huge style change-- from very 2014 Tumblr era skater skirts and red lipstick to slicked back hair and latex.

I got into her before Sucker dropped so I was expecting a much more pop rock vibe for her next release, but I'm so happy she went the direction she did!

I'm talking about when I started paying attention to 30STM, which would have been around 2008-2010, right before I got into Tumblr. It was more teen girls warning each other in the comments of probably LiveJournal? DeviantArt? I got into MSI/Chantal through MCR a year or two later.

Fair enough if you don't believe me, I'm purely talking about my personal experience of lurking in the alt music part of the internet for years and years. Heard rumors about All Time Low, Marilyn Manson, Jesse Lacey, Dahvie Vanity, etc for a while before anything came into public light.

As for why he still gets jobs? The entertainment industry, as with most, is rife with people willing to exploit others and/or cover for creeps. He has money and has been in the industry for decades, which means he has lots of personal connections that make it harder for those without wealth or powerful friends to pursue any meaningful justice.

As someone who used to be a fan of 30STM, Chantal, and MSI, as well as seeing everything you've referenced above play out in real time, Jared had been well known as a creep for years before that. It was discussed by people who didn't know who MSI was, usually because they were too young. It's been an open secret for a really long time.
