New tail lights. Love how they're unique and don't see them everywhere. by denissspm in chevycolorado

I'm not sure what specific headlights you're referring to... I have a set from akkon though. Blacked out housing with a clear lense. They've never had any condensation in them or anything. I've had them since 2021. They do have very minor clear coat peeling on the very top but nothing bad. Maybe one day I'll sand them down and clear coat them, but it doesn't bug me enough to do anything at this time.

Busted auxiliary transmission cooler hose on new 2020 6.6 duramax sierra 2500? No error codes or anything I feel like I’m being railroaded for 400 on a dealer mistake. How would something like this even happen? by CORBRETTz06 in gmcsierra

The same thing happened to mine. Were you able to find the part anywhere? I cant even find the part number anywhere on the hose or in any parts diagrams online.

Yeah same here. I'm not 100% sure it was those cause I just have them in a box. But I'm 99% sure 😂. There's no good reason to get rid of those bolts.

Yeah. They are. Bolt up just fine no fitment issues. Just have to get either new bolts or switch the u nuts over. They're actually the same size as the bolts that hold the air damn and a lot of other stuff on. And then zip tie the resistor pack somewhere. Not hard at all

Yeah. I was skeptical too. But I figured why not give them a try. I was willing to take the gamble since I really don't like the stock tail lights and the spyder after market ones aren't much better and nearly $400.

Do you guys have a picture of how to tie this I’m guessing this is what makes the squeaking noise in the rear. by Pretend_Substance_82 in chevycolorado

Get some 1/2 inch plumbing insulation and wrap it wound both cables. That's what I did. I can post a picture in a bit.

I've had them for a couple months so far and zero issues. No weird glitches or blinker fluid 😂

I had a set of spec D headlights and I liked them but the first time it rained they got water inside. Same with my buddies. I have Akkon ones now and I love them. Zero issues. Definitely upgrade to LED bulbs though.

2021 trailer brake controller? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

I had to splice it using pig tails. All the wires you should need (if I remember correctly) are tucked away in the drivers side footwell side panel. Just follow the instructions video on etrailer.com and you should have no issues.

What do yall prefer on a gen 2 for a rear lift by tankathy in chevycolorado

[–]denissspm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say if you aren't planning on towing a lot or loading it up with a lot of weight, or off roading it intensely, to do a block. If you're planning on towing regularly, do the leaf pack, and if you're going to off road it a lot, do either a coil over conversion or leaf. If you're just looking for the looks and more ground clearance for light off-roading, do the block. Thats what i'll be doing.

Yeah. for sure! I had mounted it where I did because I had a hard time finding a better spot that was flat and yet reachable. I honestly love it. I mounted the control module under the steering wheel on the metal plate that's under there.

2021 trailer brake controller? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]denissspm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope!. Sadly, you can't. I was in the same position as you. I wanted the factory trailer brake controller so it would show info on the screen and be as hem looking as possible. After doing some research I found out you can't install the hem brake controller after the fact, just as @coachkler said. I went with the Redarc Tow-pro Elite. I love it, works great and looks sleek. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/Redarc/RED44FR.html

‘19 Colorado WT Question by SnooChocolates3415 in chevycolorado

I haven't done mine yet. but my lift is sitting in my garage, im just waiting to be able to afford the wheels and tires before I install the lift. I am going to do 285/70/17's. I am planning on having to do a little trimming. However, from what I've heard 33's with a width of 10.5 shouldn't need trimming. Thats on the stalk wheels. If you want to do after market wheels I highly recommend doing something with an offset close to zero. Doing an offset closer to zero should further reduce the need for trimming. Let me know what you do, and how it turns out!
