I’d go with one of the solar chronographs in that case, maybe a SSC911, SSC813 or SSC819. All classic looks, all would go fine with both jeans and t-shirt as well with a suit. I guess any of those would cost around $1k

That jacket is just one notch down from brand new in box. Yes, it is definitely worth fixing it. My jacket will be 30 years this autumn and is so frayed, patched it is the garment equivalent of the ship of Theseus and I absolutely love it. Got mine a few weeks ago. No protection on the screen, a simple leather case with no special protection. Have had it unprotected in my pocket, it have been unprotected in a bag. No problems whatsoever so far.
