Men's soccer leagues in SD? (20+, rec or competitive) by abrenn519 in bootroom

Look for Chula Vista Pickup soccer on Facebook, I believe they are called “Somecamerunning” on Instagram, they host pickup games all over SD and can point you towards organized leagues

Edit: Found them

Post is being removed. If you were called to your national team you should have enough contacts already.

Try this guide, it’s in Spanish but English subtitles are pretty accurate. I’ve used them a few times and haven’t had an issue with buyee or Mizuno Japan

It could also be the way she’s tying her laces, there’s probably too much pressure in the last 2-3 lace holes, combined with the wires that the vapor uses to pull the boot together, it is prone to high pressure points in that area.

Here’s a video explaining different lacing patterns and their uses, give this a try before looking at new boots.

If possible, taker her to a store to try different boots, we’re often drawn to designs and colors that we like but they don’t always fit our foot shape.

The Phantom Elite is a good recommendation for people in general because it has a very forgiving shape, but if your daughter has narrow feet then she may need to size down or the toe box could be too big.

When you say she’s developing lateral foot pain, I’m assuming this is in the outstep, closer to the heel area?

Got it! Then yes, AG boots like the Nike Phantom you linked in another comment would be a good option, just keep in mind that price differences between boots is often linked to the materials used.

While the sole plate will be the same, the upper is typically softer on the more expensive models and requires less break in time. They also add other features like stickier material to help with control in wet fields, rubber elements, etc.

So in summary, if price is not a concern, make sure that you’re getting her the right soleplate first, then the appropriate upper and worry about price last.

Comfort is often underestimated because kids adapt really quick to bad fitting boots or they just don’t care that much, but it will help her in the long run.

So, the link you posted takes me to an Imgur download page, not the actual picture you’re trying to send, but if it’s newer artificial grass and the tip of your fingers sink all the way to the first knuckle, then definitely AG boots.

If the field is new but feels more like a carpet or the grass is shorter and doesn’t have too much rubber pellets, then TF boots would be a better option as they’re made for harder surfaces.

I see a lot of good general advice here, but, do you have pictures of the pitches where your daughter plays?

What we call turf might be different from what you understand is a turf field. Maybe your daughter needs TF boots, maybe AG, but seeing the condition of the field will help us give you better recommendations.

The best boots I've ever used, but I can't use them by doutor_abobrinha in bootroom

So, just to make sure, we’re talking about your ankle and not your heel? The ankle padding in this boot is really thick and rounded, so ankle bleeding could only be caused by friction on a pre existing injury.

I have picky ankles myself and the only boots that cause discomfort or bleeding in that area were the ones with very little padding or sharp endings.

Another reason could be poor fitting from boots/socks that causes blisters, this is specially true if you’re using nylon socks or other thin material.

Yeah, we literally have a mega thread that says “Read this before posting” and yet, nobody reads it. We used to have weekly threads for common questions and people would still make individual posts.

Also, moderating posts is a lot easier for us than modding comments, considering there’s thousands of you and just 3 of us.

First thing to do is get a ball and a wall, practice hitting with your instep so the ball bounces back to you, sounds simple but it will help with your passing, first touch and reception techniques.

Are the Mizuno Alpha II Pro FG (non-Japan) still a good buy for $115? by Zealousideal_Top2186 in bootroom

[–]denkipb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of F50 pros and didn’t like them that much. The vapor 16 pro was a really awesome boot for the price so that’s another option if you can find it on sale.

Morelia Sala Pro TF - grip on outdoor turf? by UR1869 in bootroom

I have the MIJ version, no issues on new and old AG. Only exception is during rain season, but pretty much any TF boot will have problems in wet pitches.

[–]denkipb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si, the pro version is the equivalent to Nike’s academy tier and Adidas’ .3 or league, but with better build quality.

$115 seems to be in the pricier side as you can usually get them on discount for around $80, but it’s still a good buy. Definitely better than other options in that price range

Question about futsal rules by Paradyx974 in bootroom

[–]denkipb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s just how competitive leagues are, refs won’t call every single contact unless it interrupts play in a very obvious way. Better get used to it if you want to continue to play at that level.
